List of sportsmen with highest pay-per-view sales
This tables lists the sportsmen who have had the highest pay-per-view sales, with at least 10 million buys. It includes sportsmen who have participated in combat sports such as boxing and mixed martial arts as well as sports entertainment such as professional wrestling.

What is closed circle theatre tv? Viewership? Ticketsales? I would think guys like hhh and cena would exceed Ali if you counted houseshows, raw and smackdown aswell.

Floyd doing the most ppvs is a no shocker.

closed circuit worked similar to PPV a feed was sent to an arena/theater showing the event that you would pay to see

the list has nothing to do with houseshows as stated as obviously a traveling professional wrestler could work much more dates than a true combat athlete in any given week/month no less an entire year ( ala Bruno )
just major show drawing power used

and Ali was in a class of his own period

I assume the wrestlers PPV buys are recounts of shows they all appeared on.

If so all the wrestlers stats are massively inflated.
Shows they main evented on ….any inflation comes from the fact wrestlers can work so many more shows than combat athletes …. Brock of course taking a bit from both

The pro wrestling inclusions would need a lot more careful consideration. For example, the WrestleMania events sold on their name and other matches other than what Vince decided should go on last.

That's why Triple H is ranked so high. Hazard a guess the absolute minority bought WM 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, 30, 32 just for Trips. There were so many other factors involved.

But overexposure is also an issue. I agree wrestlers have the advantage because they can work 12 PPVs a year, but to consistently draw on PPV month after month, even if its "only" 200-300k buys, is an achievement in itself.
