Re: Why isn't MLW (Major League Wrestling) talked about as much as ROH or NJPW
MLW ran 18 shows last year, ROH ran like 40. MLW runs about 4 different cities, ROH ran shows in the US, Canada, England, Scotland, Japan, plus like 20 different states.
MLW's TV partner in the US averages 7,000 viewers per hour of primetime television. They put Fusion episodes up on Youtube, but only one so far has even broken 100,000 views.
The reality of it is that, no matter how good MLW is, it's just not very popular. They have good buzz but not enough people watch them.
According to the May 2015 Observer, ROH was already getting close to half a million viewers per week back then across the Sinclair TV stations alone. Now consider how many stations Sinclair has bought since then, the new networks Stadium and Charge, Fite TV, Honor Club, ROH Wrestling.com, and the online/social media feeds of Stadium and Charge. There is no definite number for how many people watch ROH TV every week but it's definitely way more than Impact, NJPW on AXS, MLW Fusion, Lucha Underground, etc.
And NJPW on AXS has been said by AXS reps to average around 200,000 per week.
That's why ROH and NJPW get talked about more. They have bigger stars, they have more visibility, they have more fans. Simple.
