www.allstarwrestlingaustralia.com.au is their website. They have a show in April featuring Kingston Eclipse from New Zealand who has performed for NOAH in Japan.
Yeah, I live in West Wollongong. Thanks for that, I was aware they were starting up but didn't know when the first show would be, will be attending that for sure

I'll be attending All-Star as well. I was a Rock and Roll fan back when they were UWA but I kind of grew tired of Hunter Hayes always winning matches and it seems now their entire shows are focused on Ryback. I haven't been since 2012 so maybe I'm wrong.

Very excited for something new and I'm hoping All-Star can give the area something different.

Yeah, Hunter always going over does get a bit grating, even if he is a super nice guy outside of the ring.

As for Ryback, at this stage it makes sense to put focus on him while they expand the product. It has been working, they've managed to run bigger venues in different places. But they also put a lot of focus on Robbie Eagles and Jack Bonza, which I think is a good move. Been watching Rock and Roll since probably 2014 and I feel like Eagles especially is a good wrestler to build around. I can honestly see Eagles winding up doing big things in the near future, since he's getting a lot of the big matches with guys like Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr, and performing really well.

I don't actually know any of the guys on All-Star, before Rock and Roll I never attended any wrestling shows besides WWE. But I'm changing that this year with PWA and definitely All-Star. I've heard Dean Draven's name somewhere before, and I actually met Niki Nitro at the pub through a mutual friend, but haven't seen her wrestle yet.

It's quite an interesting roster the All-Star guys have. Blakestone seems to be someone they want to build around, he is a former PWA Champion and at one point was meant to be a huge prospect for Australian wrestling (Some even said WWE bound) but didn't make it. I heard he had a really good match with Shelton Benjamin last year in Sydney.

Draven is all class, he's a bit older now but a great technical wrestler from AWF in Sydney. They've got Dan Grieve and Jengis Kong who appear with AWF as well. Samoan Warrior was with AWF and PWA, has disappeared for awhile but now seems to have found a new home and is returning to wrestling with them.

Birdman and Nitro are so-so. Birdman has to be about fifty years old at this point and I haven't seen him wrestle in about ten years but when I did he was quite limited but got a good reaction. Nitro is simply average and I don't mean that in a bad way. She isn't particularly great at anything but not bad either.

Lex Lennock I know nothing of and I follow the scene quite closely. Kingston Eclipse is one of the top guys in New Zealand but has never appeared down this way before. He has also appeared with AWF.

Progress Wrestling are coming to Australia! Three cross promotional shows in April.

17th April- Progress X EPW (Perth)
18th April- Progress X PWA (Sydney- I'll be attending this one)
20th April- Progress X MCW (Melbourne)

Hope we get Dunne, Bate and Storm. Insane stuff. 2018 continues to shock me for Aussie wrestling awesomeness.

https://progresswrestling.com/blogs/...lia-this-april

The PWA vs. Progress (Sydney) show is set to take place in the Star City Event Centre. It has a capacity of around 1,500 according to a quick Google search. Feels like a major venue for PWA to run, regardless of the size. Pete Dunne and Travis Banks are the first two names from Progress confirmed.

PWA: Return of the Ospreay is taking shape as well. Off the heels of WK12, Will Ospreay is scheduled for another Fatal 4 Way. So far it's Ospreay vs. Robbie Eagles vs. Mick Moretti vs. TBD. I'm hoping for Caveman Ugg.

Also, the PWA Tag Team Championship is on the line in a TLC match! Shazza McKenzie & Big Fudge (c) vs. Unsocial Jordan & Snapchad.

Got front row seats for this show and hoping to do the same with Progress when they go on sale. Good times!

Got to meet Will Ospreay last night at PWA Black Label. His match, a Fatal 4 Way with Robbie Eagles, Mick Moretti and Caveman Ugg, was honestly the best match I've seen live. Would put it above the DIY vs. Revival vs. AOP match from NXT Takeover Orlando. Just amazing stuff.

After the match, Ospreay got on the mic and put over Aussie wrestling (he truly loves our scene) and specifically mentioned Robbie Eagles. He said he's been talking to one Dave Meltzer and Da Meltz is a big Robbie Eagles fan. He then polled the crowd on whether we'd like to see Eagles participate in this years NJPW Best of the Super Juniors!

Goddamn. My favourite wrestler in Australia could soon be heading off to do great things in Japan!

SWITCHBLADE likes this.

Re: Aussie Indy Wrestling

Ospreay had a surprisingly good match with Gino Gambino at MCW last Saturday as well. I think a lot of people were expecting it to be a bit of a letdown after his classic with Adam Brooks, but it was an amazing big man vs little man match.

MOTN went to Slex vs. Robbie Eagles in a ladder match though.

Re: Aussie Indy Wrestling

Anyone heading over to All-Star Wrestling on April 21st in Wollongong? Seems like they're going to be a contender with the talent they're using. They've booked Bullet Club's Gino Gambino for an event in May.

That's the same day as MCW Ballroom Brawl which features talent from Progress, so absolutely not

Well, Melbourne and Wollongong are 8 and a half hours away from one another so I don't think PROGRESS wrestling at MCW will hurt them...
