Thanks for the clarification.

Still though, the ROH world champion working AAA's WrestleMania even though his main company has a partnership with their rivals, that could do some damage to yet another one of ROH's partners. They may not have anything to do with that, but who knows how CMLL will view the situation.

Re: Official ROH Discussion Thread

CMLL probably isn't happy, but considering they just sent Ultimo Guerrero (who is on CMLL's booking committee) to work shows that Rush was on, I think they'll get over it.

Either that, or Ultimo Guerrero just gets to do whatever he wants because he's Ultimo Guerrero.

Re: Official ROH Discussion Thread

Maybe the worst Final Battle buldup in years.
No hype for the event, zero.
And I am a big ROH fan.

They don't give me a reason to watch the show, and it's a shame, they had a good first months of 2019 with new great talents. Stop using Bully Ray, Allure and craps. Change the booking team.
Corey and Bryan Jericho like this.

Re: Official ROH Discussion Thread

Figures that they were going to do something in those cancelled shows to build up Final Battle.

Alex Shelley looks like he went on a spirit quest and came back as Matt Sydal.

Not disagreeing with you on Final Battle... but i really think the last 3-4 months they've been focusing on resigning talent. You could tell by DBD build, and now Final Battle. They are hesitant to use key wrestlers in key situations when they could walk. (Cancelling shows, and injuries hasn't helped either) Also focusing on the Fox Sports deal too i assume and the "big plans for 2020".

Bully Ray has been gone for a while. Not that i like/think they need him, but he's their only "big" name in the company to casual fans; while ROH is struggling to sell tickets.

Hopefully the TV show can hype up the PPV nicely. The kingdom storyline has been pretty interesting. Lethal turning heel was awesome. VE vs. VE tournament final was interesting. Still think they need to do a lot better, but of what they have done, it's been pretty good.

There are also a chance there could be something going on with Marty and world title. Marty's promo's putting over PCO seem a bit fishy. Might be wishful thinking.

Also there are a handful of big names without FB matches yet... Castle, CObb, Scurll, Brody King, Flip Gordon, Bandido, Shane Taylor, Alex Shelley , Dragon Lee etc So I assume they'll put together a couple bangers. Not the ideal situation for your biggest show of the year, BUT could still end up being a good-great show.

Interesting to see that he is back after all of these years. He was still fairly impressive at the last set of cards.

Yes, many wrestlers still don't have any matches (probably they wanted to add them to canceled shows). The storyline of the Kingdom is good on paper, but Vincent's attack was not done very well, however it is a turn face from Taven and the end of a stable that characterized the last 3 years of ROH.

Maybe I was too strict, but I still remember the fantastic build ups of other Final Battle (2010, 2012, 2014, 2015). In 2010 I was looking forward to seeing Davey / Strong and Steen / Generic .. how many memories.
