If they were drawing nothing they wouldn't be getting tv deals. WWE programming is frequently number one and AEW was number two on cable Wednesday night.

As I pointed out NXT the developmental show is easily outdrawing what WCW was doing for it's big shows in 2000-01 and NXT doesn't have a dozen guys making over a million a year.

It's hilarious smarks here are dissing NXT and praising Goldberg but NXT sold more tickets for their biggest events in 2018-19 than WCW did in late 2000-01 with Goldberg in top matches.

New Blood Rising August 2000 attendance 6,614
Fall Brawl September 2000 attendance 8,638
Halloween Havoc October 2000 attendance 7,582
Mayhem November 2000 attendance 3,800
Starrcade December 2000 attendance 6,596
Sin January 2001 attendance 6,617

In comparison
Takeover Toronto attendance 13,735
Takeover 25 attendance 6,000
Takeover NYC attendance 15,697
Takeover Phoenix attendance 9,000
Takeover Wargames attendance 13,598
Takeover Brooklyn 4 attendance 14,676
Goldberg streak ending didn't kill his whole wrestling power nor it killed WCW, that's revisionist bullshit, Goldberg was still red hot at some point after Starcarade and early 1999.

Which killed Goldberg and WCW was the follow through AFTER his streak ending, which was result of the company going a complete booking mess and already going downhill by its own during that point, there was not an individual star in the companany that could save them.

Goldberg run as champion in WWE proved he was still a draw following WCW death with him being a successful champion with Survivor Series and Unforgiven having good buyrates. Goldberg never stopped being a draw as long as he was on top being correctly booked.

WCW as a whole stopped drawing after Superbrawl 1999. That was the last PPV with a strong buyrate, business tanked after that and NOTHING drew.

They really shouldn't get over it. People are allowed to like wrestling.
Because people act like workrate, spots, five star matches are all that matters. The biggest Wrestlers of all time tended to succeed with less. Its proof that you don't have to be some workrate God to be a good Pro Wrestler. Goldberg was hugely successful and entertaining with his 3 moves.

Every fan doesn't matter, the majority tuned in and enjoyed Goldberg, while the majority have tuned out, uninterested in the spot monkeys.

This is how I would cash in.
I saw it coming a month before Wrestlemania.

You can blame Vince Russo for Goldberg going nowhere before WCW went under. Vince Russo has this ideology that no wrestler is immune to jobbing. Yes I get it Russo had nothing to do with Nash ending the streak but after that it was everyone has to job to someone. I still can't believe this guy saw Billy Kidman as a main eventer

Re: Goldberg: I donít care about NXTÖuntil they move over here then I donít need to talk about them

Goldberg was always trash. Put anybody in his position to win 172 times in a row and steamroll over the entire roster in 2 minutes and they would have been just as big. The fact that he buys into his own hype and thinks he is a legit tough guy because he was booked that way is laughable.

And Matt Riddle needs worry more about his own career because bong rips and twitter wars does not create an interesting wrestler.

If drawing doesn't matter, then why does fan reactions matter? They both implicate how much fans are invested in the wrestler. So why do wrestling fans care who gets the biggest pops (e.g. Seth is over, Bray is over, Becky is over) but drawing ability is considered shallow and stupid. If Goldberg is the bigger draw, more than anyone on the current roster, it means that fans were more invested in Goldberg than they are with anyone else.
