That isnt a metric for relevance though, if someone didnt watch wrestlemania it doesnt matter how many did because it isnt relevant to them. Relevance is literally relative to the person. A million people might watch wrestlemania but if they watched takeover and had more of an emotional reaction and cared more than it literally was more relevant to them. Just because someone was present or viewed something has no bearing on how relevant it was to them. The same amount of people probably bought wrestlemania as who bought takeover because its on the same network. Again, something being great is completely subjective youre completely off base with whatever your trying to say. For instance, if a law is passed in new york state and you live in Wyoming, it has no bearing at all how many people are in new york state if the law doesnt apply to you, therefore it is irrelevant to you despite it being relevant to millions of people whom it applies to. At most you can say its relevant to more people but depending on what the subject matter of the conversation is or the person's perspective what is relevant changes

Absurd. It was a good match but nowhere near the likes of Gargano vs. Almas, the first two matches with Ciampa last year, Sasha vs. Bayley...I could go on in NXT history, let alone the likes of the first HIAC or Austin vs. Hart. Bryan vs. Kofi alone beat it.

the same as how some people don't care if a wrestling match looks like a sporting contest, just as long as there is enough un-wrestling related reality tv drama in it, as if there isn't enough of that tripe on tv as it is

It was better than Gargano/Almas in my opinion and had a TON more emotion and crowd investment, as well.

NXT Takeover: New York Attendance: 15,697
2018 Summerslam Attendance: 16,169

That show had almost the same attendance as one of WWE's biggest main roster shows of the year. If it is a business of "putting asses in seats" then your argument holds no merit at all. I swear, it's almost as if people don't even watch NXT and just assume it is some rinky dink developmental territory when it is completely it's own brand and is the furthers thing from developmental. So by your argument, the greatest match of all time can only take place at like Saudi Arabia or Wrestlemania? Because those are the only shows with bigger crowds than NXT Takeovers.

As for the topic at hand, It was a really good match but Gargano alone has had 3 or 4 matches that were better than it.

Was it an absolutely fantastic match? Yes.

Was it the greatest WWE match of all time? No.

Pretty simple.

This seems a lot more reasonable in my thinking, but it's still up there for me in all time WWE matches. I thought it was the best NXT match ever though.
