Recommended emo albums?

Hit me up with some of them good ol' cry-a-long albums. The more melodramatic, the better

Some of my personal favorites:

(Basement - I Wish I Could Stay Here)

(Brand New - Deja Entendu)

(Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me)

(Farewell - Isn't This Supposed To Be Fun?)

(Sunny Day Real Estate - How It Feels To Be Something On)

Re: Recommended emo albums?

Black Parade is great, but calling it emo might be a bit much. Just a very theatrical brand of pop punk if you ask me.

Three Cheers falls more in line with standard emo-pop; much more personal, relationship-based songwriting. Also a lot quirkier.

Re: Recommended emo albums?

Calling My Chemical Romance "emo" period is also kind of pushing it.

Check out Slip by Quicksand and Listening Game by Far. Back before the times 'emo' became a dirty word.

Oh and no offence to anyone else, but MCR are fucking musical abortion.

Re: Recommended emo albums?

Don't get the hype with Brand New. Does nothing for me.

Prefer Thursday or Taking Back Sunday, and even that is only a few tracks I can bump.

Smashing Pumpkins -- Siamese, Mellon, Adore. Do those count?

Is "emo" even a genre? lol
