I was thinking about this, as one of the instrumentals that I love, is Kris Kross' 'Alright' track, it's a great track, regardless but the instrumental on this is just smooth, the bass, vibe, feel of it etc... is just really good.

This here, although this is listed as an instrumental, it's actually the TV track, as it does have a few vocals, such as the ragga chat and the dubs, however the lead vocal is cut and the majority of this is just the music.

31 seconds in, the track goes to complete instrumental .... have a listen.

Another that I love is the Beastie Boys work, as they've done a few instrumental albums, such as 'The Mix Up' and 'The In Sound From Way Out', which are really good.

However what tracks do you love, that you also love the instrumental of and can just vibe to it

Don't worry Heff, we can still have a nice Thanksgiving. I bought us a nice big vegetarian turkey. It'll be delicious!

Is that Cliff Richard, or was he a part of them at some point, that rings a bell

Yeah The Shadows were originally Cliff's backing band until he branched out on his own I believe.

I really like listening to thrash and speed metal instrumentals and picking out the individual instruments. If I had to pick a favourite instrumental, it would probably be Painkiller.

Travis must have lost 10 pounds when they recorded this, such a good track.

I also love these ones:

Re: Instrumentals of tracks that you love and can listen to, without the vocals?

There are a lot of old school Hip Hop beats that I can sit back and enjoy listening to from both West Coast artists especially in the G-Funk Era and East Coast artists.

This is a beautiful beat that gets you thinking about life and there's a great solo trumpet by Nas' father near the end of the song at 2.42 that almost makes you wanna shed a tear.

This is another great Nas collaboration and it has a reggae gangster like beat.

I couldn't find an instrumental only video of Fast Life by Nas and Kool G Rap, so I'm posting a video of the song with the vocals. This is another beautiful smooth beat.

And there are lots of Nas solos that have wonderful beats like The World Is Yours, Nas Is Like etc.

This is one of Ice Cube's hard as fuck beats from his early badass days post-NWA. The beat also sounds demonic, like there are screaming ghosts in the background.

Naughty By Nature have some great mellow beats like most famously OPP and Hip Hop Hooray, Everything's Gonna Be Alright, Feel Me Flow, Written In Ya Kitten, Jamboree and then they have some great hard sounding beats like Uptown Anthem, It's On, Yoke The Joker.

This is from 2006 but it still belongs in Dre's category of great beats. I really love the piano mixed with hip hop beat this song has. It gets you thinking and imagining like the song is asking you to do and it's an emotional song.

Another of Dre's great beats, it's hard & funky and makes you wanna go out and kill a motherfucker...okay, not really, but it's a badass beat.

Dr. Dre made G-Funk popular with The Chronic but it was Above The Law that pioneered G-Funk. I want to post Black Superman's instrumental but I can't find a proper video of the instrumental, so Kalifornia will do.

This is my favourite Tribe beat. I love the raw gritty sound of Butter.

Coolio's beats were always the main highlight of his songs for me. Gangstas Paradise, the Kenan and Kel theme, Geto Highlights, Too Hot etc. Loved them all. This one is probably his greatest. Hip Hop merged with Opera.

Here's another great Hip-HOpera song with a great instrumental. I couldn't find an instrumental only video of Prince Igor, so I'm posting a video of the song with the vocals.

There are loads more hip hop beats I'd love to post but if I do, I'll jam this page, so I'll leave it from here.

I don't know if it really counts, but I love video game music, which is basically all instrumental. I have a huge playlist of my fave video game music that I put on when I'm bored of my music library, it's glorious.

And though it's not a proper "instrumental" as such, one of my favourite songs ever is "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty, in particular, the saxophone solo. When I discovered that song, I played it to death and told one of my friends about how much I loved the saxophone in it. In response, he made me an instrumental version of the track with just the saxophone and the guitar solo in it Now I can listen to it to my heart's content, haha!

Met Mox on March 28 2015/April 2 2016/August 20 2016/April 1 2017/April 7 2019!!
Met Roman on April 2 2016/April 7 2018!! Met Seth on March 31 2017/April 6 2019!!

Upcoming shows: WWE Melbourne, October 23 2019

My favourite band Godspeed You! Black Emperor is entirely instrumetal. There's one song called East Hastings where you can hear the bass player humming a bit in the background and that's come to be considered a vocal line but I don't think that was their original intention. I was a really lo-fi recording and I think they just left it in because that's the kind of band they are. They have samples in some songs with people talking but that's it.

Some of their best songs:

This too, a hundred times over this. One of my favourite pieces of music is Vigil off Mass Effect. And I could listen to Final Fantasy music all day.

Yeah, instrumental music you enjoy is fine by me as far as this thread is concerned

Another great one, that I think most people would love to relax and chill to here is the Beastie Boys 'The Mix Up' album, they pretty much just got their instruments and jammed, no vocals or anything on this, and it's not even hip hop influenced really .... have a listen to this, it's awesome!!!
