Re: Official Mafia Role Thread

These are the roles from Heroes of Newerth Mafia.

Spoiler for Roles:
TOWN:

Congratulations! You are Andromeda, Legion Aligned.

You are a star-born celestial and a former stranger to Newerth. You have no memory of your home but your innate senses tell you that Hellbourne are evil and the mortal inhabitants of Newerth are innocent. You are a very strong supporting hero in Newerth due to that fact you are an unlimited Supporter.

At night, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use his role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Aluna, Legion Aligned.

Beautiful and spirited, Aluna carries within her the essence of Earth itself. Thanks to your skill in battle you have already become a celebrity amongst the heroes of Newerth. You are a strong versatile supporter and therefore have the role of the unlimited Supporter.

At night, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Empath, Legion Aligned.

Tied to the lifeforce of all creatures that move across the lands of Newerth, the Empath has suffered greatly in the war against the daemons of the Hellbourne. You have many powerful assets to help town and in the game you play the role of a supporter. Therefore, you are an unlimited Supporter in this game.

At night, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Rhapsody, Legion Aligned.

A former musician in Newerth, the Hellbourne poisioned your fans and caused you great distress. You pledged your life to the Legion cause, took Jeraziah as your boss, who consoled you for your loss, and vowed to be at your side. You are a pretty good supporter and are therefore an unlimited Supporter this game.

At night, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Hammerstorm, Legion Aligned.

A mighty warrior who left his home to fight with Maliken and his first Legion. Since childhood, you have known nothing but battle and have sworn allegiance with the Legion to battle against the once King, Maliken. You are a really good ganker/supporter in Newerth and you are therefore an unlimited Supporter in this game.

At night, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Jeraziah, Legion Aligned.

King Jeraziah, the hope of humanity and one of the two leaders of the new Legion, is not just a mighty warrior but also the chosen of Sol himself. The light that shines forth from him leads all toward victory, and represents the dawning of a new day, one without cloud or shadow. You are a great hero that is extremely versatile in-game and a leader of the Legion. Your Ultimate skill is Sol's Blessing that grants your allies immunity to physical damage. You are therefore the 1-shot 4-man BG.

Once during this game, you can PM me at night and give me the name of 4 players you wish to protect. That night, those 4 players AND yourself will be completely immune to all kills. This is a very strong ability so use it wisely.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Master of Arms, Legion Aligned.

Efficient and deadly, the Master of Arms dispatches his foes with blazing speed and pinpoint accuracy. With an arsenal rivaled by none he spreads chaos among his enemies while rallying his allies with his lust for battle. You are a very versatile hero that can be played in many ways, as a ganker, supporter and even a carry. This game you are 1-shot Supporter.
Once during the game, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Keeper of the Forest, Legion Aligned.

An ancient protector of the forest, you fight to save the lush lands of Newerth as you have tended to your whole life. You have a strong spiritual link to the trees and the nature around you and you have many abilities that help you in battle. In-game you are a versatile hero that can be used as a ganker, jungler or a supporter. When the first support dies this game, you leave the forrest and take the supporters place in battle. You are a back-up Supporter. When the first supporter dies this game you gain the ability of a Supporter and remain as a Supporter for the rest of the game.

When you become a supporter, at night, you pick one player to target. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Scout, Legion Aligned.

Since your childhood, you have been trained to be swift, silent and deadly. Scouts spend much of their lives deep in the wild, apart from their brethren. Now as war rages on, you have been picked as the lead Scout to help Legion in battle. Due to your powerful ability of being invisible and stealthy, sneaking up to enemy players is easy. You are therefore the Cop.
At night, you may pick one player to target. You will sneak up to that player and find out what alignment that particular player is.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Legionnaire, Legion Aligned.

You bring massive amounts of power to the battlefield. With their massive battle-axes, these warriors spread carnage among their foes and cleave bloody swaths through enemy ranks. Your Ultimate skill in the game is to kill any player that is low on health. Due to this, you are the 1-shot hammerer.

Once during the game, when another player has half the votes to be lynched, you can send me a PM saying "Decapitate 'player x'". Day will then abruptly end and the player in question will be lynched. Your role does not need to be switched on on by a Support hero in order to be used.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Bubbles, Legion Aligned.

A powerful wizard once owned a pet turtle. Each day, the turtle watched and mimicked as the wizard practiced his spells. One day, the turtle fell into a magical pool and was transformed into more than a mere turtle. Now, centuries after his master died, Bubbles lives on, fighting the forces of evil.
You are one of my favorite heroes in HoN and your versatility and swiftness are key to your battle-style. Since you are so damn fast, you are the Tracker.

At night, you may PM me a name of a player. You will then shell surf around the map, following that players movement and seeing who they visit.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Magebane, Legion Aligned.

A keeper of lost lore and a priest to forgotten gods, you invoke unholy rituals to drain energy from your enemies and turn it back against them. You are probably the best carry player in the game, with the right supporter around you. When you have good support and a few items, you slice through enemies like they aren't even there. You are therefore the 3-shot Vigilante.

At night, you may PM me a name of any player in the game. During night you will flash towards that player and slice through them, killing them instantly. If you manage to use all your 3-shots, you turn into a normal Vanilla Townie.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Pebbles, Legion Aligned.

Many Legion heroes and allies have a strong bond with nature and Pebbles is no different. A huge half rock-half giant that can devastate the enemy lines with one blow. In-game Pebbles is one of the best gankers in the game. If played correctly, you can kill an enemy player in half a second, thanks to your first two skills. Due to your ganking abilities, you are a 1-shot Vig.

Once during the game, you can send me a name of a player during night night and that player will then die the same night.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Thunderbringer, Legion Aligned.

Unlike the wild lightning he commands, the Thunderbringer is marked by his calm patience and careful adherence to the ancient Beast protocols and etiquette. Though considered a bit of a fogey by others, he is an undeniable master of shamanic lore and a powerful wielder of mystic energies. Thunderbringer is a very interesting hero as he can do pretty much anything, support, gank and sometimes carry (barely). Since the Thunderbringer is a wise man, you are the 1-shot Supporter Cop.

Once during the game, you can PM me a name of a player and I will tell you whether that player has the role of a Supporter or not.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Armadon, Legion Aligned.

A stolid and stalwart defender of the weak, whether Man or Beast, the long-lived Armadon refused to take part in the war between the Legion and the Horde, and instead maintained a neutral haven amidst the strife. With the arrival of the Hellbourne, however, Armadon's choice became clear, and he hefted his mighty mace in the service of good. The gruff warrior is now a key hero in the New Legion.

With your razorsharp back and incredibly thick skin, you are almost indestructible. In-game you are one of the best tank/carries in the game, with some good supporters around you. Due to your tankiness, you are a 2-shot Bulletproof.

If you are ever shot at during night in the game, you will survive the kill, and lose some skin in the process though. If you survive 2 night kills you are vulnerable to a kill and become a normal townie.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Engineer, Legion Aligned.

Once a humble, hard-drinking builder in the Legion, he came to master all manner of machines. Wielding a blunderbuss of his own design and hoisting ale and a veritable armory on his back, he is a strange but impressive sight on the battlefield. Thanks to your skills in engineering, you are very familiar with deadly weapons. You are therefore a 2-shot Gunsmith.

Twice during the game, you can PM me a name of a player. During night, you will visit that player while he is a sleep and look for anything you think could be used as a deadly weapon. The next day I will PM you whether the player had a deadly weapon or not.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Vindicator, Legion Aligned.

Hey, you used to be a pretty good hero. You're pretty cool as well. I liked you. S2 decided to fuck you up though so you're nothing special anymore. I would give you some back-story or flavor about Vindicator but the lore about him is complete shit. You are therefore a Vanilla Townie.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Pandamonium, Legion Aligned.

The last of a race of warrior-monks sworn to a chaste existence in the misty Sang-La mountains, Pandamonium has left his bamboo groves for the battlefield. He moves with a grace that belies his great stature and strikes with fury surprising in one with such an apparently gentle nature. And though he is a creature of few words, the Beasts put great stock in his wisdom. That's what the lore says at least. In the game you're barely visible, never played much. You are therefore a Vanilla Townie.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

Congratulations! You are Blitz, Legion Aligned.

What a stupid and bad hero. S2 Games really fucked up on your character design. You look like Starfox for some reason. You are a shit hero with shit skills and a ugly design. You are a Vanilla Townie.

You win when all threats to the Legion have been eliminated.

MAFIA:

Congratulations! You are Maliken, Hellbourne Aligned.

Once the greatest defender of mankind and lord over the entire Legion, Maliken walked too close to the darkness and was claimed by it. Now he is nothing more than a slave among the damned -- but his incredible might has only grown in his downfall. Wielding a damned sword fed by his own damned soul, Maliken is the bane of the very heroes he once led into battle.

That lore makes you sound pretty bad ass. You actually are pretty bad-ass. You're a very interesting hero in-game with many cool components. Since you control the Hellbourne, you are the Godfather. You are investigation immune and have final say on who to kill at night with your factional kill. In addition to the factional kill, Hellbourne have a factional unlimited Support, when used on a player with a role, that players role will be active during night. Thanks to your former allegiance with the Legion, you are also the Rolecop.

Twice during the game, at night, you can PM the name of a player and find out what role that player possesses.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when Hellbourne control the majority of the vote and nothing can prevent the from doing so.

Congratulations! You are Glacius, Hellbourne Aligned.

The legends of Frostfield speak of a mighty warrior in a frozen prison who would break free when Newerth needed him most. On the eve of the Hellbourne invasion, a man made more of cold than flesh emerged from the tundra. Wrapped in mist and armored in ice, the stranger claimed the name Glacius, but when he aligned himself with the Hellbourne daemons, he shattered what hope his people had left.

You are a great support hero and you are therefore the 2-shot Support.

Twice during the game, you may PM me a name of any player in the game. That player will have his role switched on for that night and will be able to use their role.

You win when Hellbourne control the majority of the vote and nothing can prevent them from doing so.

His discoveries have been used to forge Shocktroopers, men fused with Ancient technology, pulsing with violent energy. These horrifying hybrids bear a tank of liquid lightning upon their backs, and they wield its contents as both sword and shield. They are the Electricians, a strong group of gankers that yield powerful abilities to destroy the Legion army. The Ultimate skill of the Electrician is the Cleansing Shock. This spell removes all buffs to the targeted hero. You are therefore the Support Blocker.

At night, you may PM me the name of a player you want to use your Cleansing Shock ability on. If that player is targeted by a Supporter, his role will not be activated, like it should be.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

The Hellbourne unearthed this creature from the shifting sands of the Great Waste. He could originally speak but a single word, which has become his name -- Pharaoh. It seems he must once have been a mighty king, wrapped as he is in golden finery, but now he is simply a monster, summoning forth his dead servants from the grave and conjuring fire and fear across the land. Pharaoh is a cool ganker and pretty versatile. One of his spells traps the enemy in a wall of mummies. Due to this ability you are the 2-shot Jail Keeper
.
Twice during the game, at night, you may PM me the name of a player and during that night, that player will be stuck in your wall of mummies. The player will not be able to use his role and is protected from all kills during night.

[QUOTE=Sweet'N Sour]

Congratulations! You are Devourer, Hellbourne Aligned.

Consuming and destroying all in its path, the corpulent, putrid Devourer exists only to feed. No pain can match the agony of its hunger, and so it shrugs off all attacks, spreading its rot and disease across the battlefield like doom itself. Devourer is a very strong ganker and has many scary abilities. His Ultimate skill is devour where Devourer devours the enemy player. When devouring a player, if the player is killed while being devoured, the dead player won't be recognizable by anyone and his role PM will not be revealed. So you are the 1-shot Janitor.

Once during the game, you can choose to devour one player. If that player dies, his role PM will be hidden from the write-up and only the mafia will receive his role PM in the QT.

NOTE: Your role needs to be switched on by a Support hero in order to be used. You will not be notified if your role is switched on or not. If you don't want to use your role, send me a PM saying so.

You win when Hellbourne control the majority of the vote and nothing can prevent the from doing so.

INDIVIDUAL ALIGNED:

Congratulations! You are Soulstealer, Individual Aligned.

The priests tell young men bound for the battlefield that if they fall, Elysian fields and peace awaits them. But this is not strictly true, not as long as the Soulstealer walks the battlefield. Gathering the spirits of those he kills in a bloody, shadowy sack, he augments his own power with their suffering. Those who see him quake in terror to know that death, for them, will be no release, but only a fiery captivity and oblivion.

Soulstealer is fucking cool. He's good as well. You've grown tired of being a warrior serving for Maliken and have decided to take to the battlefield and fight against both Legion and Hellbourne. Another Hellbourne hero had the same idea. Parasite. You two are working together to win this game alone. Parasite is a support redirector, his role needs to be activated by a Support to be able to use it.

You are the SK. Every night you pick a player to kill. This is factional and does need to be activated. In addition to the factional kill, you and Parasite will also receive an unlimited amount of Support. You can pick one player during the end of day and that player will have his role activated during night and can be used. In addition to all of that, you are also a 1-shot bulletproof. If you are shot at during night, you will survive, but only once and your bulletproof vest needs to be activated by a Support during that night otherwise it will not work and you will die as normal if shot at.

Your Quicktopic is here:

You win when you or Parasite are the only ones alive.

Congratulations! You are Parasite, Individual Aligned.

While the world above burned, within the deepest crevices of Newerth an abominable conglomeration of sentient gels, pathogens, and other lurkers of the deep simmered in a primordial pool, slowly evolving and multiplying. From this cesspool emerged the Parasite, sickeningly intelligent and chaotically evil.

Parasite is a pretty cool hero. Fun to play. Strong ganker and very diverse. You and Soulstealer have decided to go on your own in the war between Legion and the Hellbourne and try to exterminate them all. Soulstealer is the Serial-Killer and a 1-shot Bulletproof. His BP needs to be active by a Support in order to be in effect. Your faction also has a factional support that can be used every day and takes effect during night, allowing the player targeted to use his role.

You are the Support Redirector. If you target a player with this role and that player was supported during night, you can redirect that support to another player of your choosing. Please send this in like this: Redirect X onto Z. You are also the Back-Up Serial-Killer. If Soulstealer dies, you take over the killing during night.

You also have a super secret role that I created myself. I call it the Parasite. On Night 1, you pick one player to visit, any player in the game. If successful, you will have leeched onto that player. If that player survives without dying the rest of the game, you will win. So if you die but this player you leeched survives until the end, you still joint-win with whatever faction won. If that player dies however, you continue to stay alive and your only shot at winning is with this Indy faction. You have to make your decision Night 1 and if you don't target anyone Night 1, you lose this ability. You don't need to be supported to use this role Night 1. The Soulstealer does not know you have this ability and will not be told so. You can decide whether you tell him or not but it's more fun to keep it secret.

Your Quicktopic is here:

You win if you or Soulstealer are the last players standing OR if the player you leeched survives until end-game.

Could people upload roles to this thread? Update it somewhat.

This thread could be so much more and super helpful to a first time host currently putting a game together.

Re: Official Mafia Role Thread

So, it's been a while since this thread has been updated (understatement). I've been taking some time out this past month updating a new list and adding roles here and there, and also adding any creative roles I see. There's a bunch of rare roles in here, that might help hosts make their set-ups more unique.

Basically complied a bunch of roles from Mafia sites I could find etc that I found interesting.
I went and looked back at past games as well, and had a look to see if Hosts included any creative roles/variants.

This list doesn't contain obvious roles like Cop etc that feature in most games.

Spoiler for Roles:
Insomniac

Any Alignment

The holder of this role self-targets each night, and will get a report of what roles it was targeted by during that Night phase, if any.

Chemist

(This is one I thought up, maybe, or maybe someone else did )

Any Alignment

The holder of this role has a list of letters. If they succesfully match two letters together that match a combination set by the host, they gain a 1-Shot role of that formula.

For example
X + Y = 1-Shot Cop
B + C = 1-Shot Bodyguard.

Ideally, don't give them too many letters that it's impossible, but enough that they can't easily just guess combinations and gain roles.

Bounty Hunter

Individual

This is an Indiviual Aligned role, that's a spin on a Serial Killer.

There is a player that is randomly assigned as a 'Bounty' for the Bounter Hunter to kill from the list of players. If they kill that player successfully, they fulfill their win condition and exit the game. But they can operate as a regular Serial Killer as well by killing the wrong targets.

If the Bounty dies before the Bounty Hunter kills them, then they lose the game.

The Bounty Hunter isn't told who it's target is, and it's target isn't informed they've been randomly drawn.

Role Thief

Any Alignment

Usually X-Shot. Basically what it says on the tin, the holder of this role can target another player and steal their role from them, essentially turning the stolen player in to a roleless player.

Cannibal

Individual

The Cannibal can 'feast' on a player and kill them and then Copycat their role (if they have one). They then gain a 1-Shot Ability to use of that role. The Cannibals win condition is the same as the Serial Killer, to be the last man standing, only they get to copy the role of the target they kill.

Lynchstopper/Escape Artist

Any Alignment

The holder of this role automatically stops the first lynch on them. The Day will end but no lynch will be achieved if a majority has been reached on this player. Usually always 1-Shot.

Clockmaker

Individual

Really cool role. Basically this is an independent aligned player that wins if their clock ever strikes 12 during the game.

They change the time on their clock by killing another player at Night.

From Mafia Universe:
The clock starts at 9 and will go up 2 hours if they kill a town and down 1 hour if they kill a mafia. If the clock hits 10, the Clockmaker will receive one Bulletproof vest. If the clock hits 6, the Clockmaker dies. If the Clockmaker wins, they are removed from the game.

QT Maker/Interrogator

Town

The holder of this role can select a player at Night and hold a QT session with them until the next Night phase.

A variant of this role is Interrogator. Where the holder of the role sends a QT to the player of their choosing for the next Night, whilst also blocking them from using any role/night action they may have as well.

CPR Doctor

Town

Basically a Doctor, but if their chosen target doesn't get targeted by a kill, the CPR Doctor involtunarily kills them.

FBI Agent

Usually Town, but can be a nice Mafia perk as well.

Basically, the FBI Agent only recieves a Guilty if it Investigates the Serial Killer. This role is useless in games without a Serial Killer. It can be way to weaken your Serial Killer if you gave them a bunch of perks.

Bystander

Town

Holder of this role will always show up in any 'Tracker' or 'Watcher' results.

Hot Potato/Bomb

Town

Holder of this role has to pass their role on to another player every night. That player then needs to continue passing it on, and so on and so forth. The person with the Hot Potato cannot use their role whilst they have it.

Desperado

Town

Usually 1-Shot. Can select a player to be killed during Day, and if that player is scum then they will be killed and the Desperado will live, but if they hit a Town aligned player with their role, they will die instead.

Evolver

Any Alignment

Taken from Doddsy's game, he probably took it from somewhere else It's basically a Jack of all Trades that gains their abilities after a certain time period has passed. For example they get a 1-Shot usage of a Role during Night 2 and so on. Good way to weaken a JOAT.

Copycat

Any Alignment

Similar to a Role Thief, only the holder simply just copies whatever role it targets and gains an X-Shot ability of, rather than flat out stealing it.

Alert

Town

Basically can choose a Night to go on 'alert' and if someone tries visiting them, they get killed.

Gunsmith

Town

This one doesn't get used enough imo. It's basically like a not so clear cut Cop. The holder of this role targets a player at night and learns if they have a gun in their possession. Mafia/Vigilantes have guns. Serial Killers usually don't, but that's up to the host.

Forensic Investigator

Any Alignment

Usually 1-Shot. The holder of this role sends the host the name of a player that has died during the game, and they get a list back of all players that have targeted that player during the course of the game. The abilities/roles used are not disclosed.

You can also make it a weaker variant so they can only investigate the previous phase's lynch or Night kills, and not from the beginning of the game.

Actor

Town. Has been as Mafia sometimes.

They can only place the hammering vote. They can't vote otherwise. Kind of a meh role, but whatever.

List Cop

Town

Sends the host a list of players names and then cops them in order every night from start to finish. They cannot change the order once sent to the Host. You can also restrict them to a specific number of players.

Flavor Cop

Town

Weaker version of Cop/Rolecop basically that gets hints on that player's flavour, which usually hints at their role/alignment in someway.

Ascetic

Any Alignment

Holder of this role is immune to all actions except kills. Like a commuter, but can still be killed basically. Usually X-Shot.

Psychiatrist

Town

It's only purpose is to convert the Serial Killer in to a Townie. If the Psychiatrist successfully visits the Serial Killer, they become Vanilla and join the Town's win condition.

Arms Dealer

Town

Can target a player at night and give them a Vig shot which is used on their role target from that Night phase. If the Arms Dealer targets the Vigilante, they involuntarily kill them.

Hacker

Any Alignment

I used this in my 24 Mafia. Could work as either alignment. It's basically a Rolecop/Cop/Tracker hybrid that gets random results on their target each night, which could be any of those 3 choices.

Tough Townie

Town

Basically has to soak up two kills to die. For example, a Vig and Mafia would have to target this player to kill them.

Judas

Town

Taken from Katti's game. It's basically a player that starts out as Town, but has the option to convert to the Mafia faction if they want. Huge swingy role. Largely depends on player moral.

Kingmaker

Town

Can choose a player during Day and specify them as the 'King' that player then casts the sole vote to lynch that day phase of the remaining players.

Late Townie

Town

Also taken from Katti's game It's basically a Townie that arrives 'late' and cannot vote or claim until Day 2. You can also give them a bonus role with this, such as Vigilante or a Cop etc.

Sensor

Town

Holder of this role can message the Host a successful lynch and they will then be told how many Mafia members were on the wagon. Usually best restricted to Day 1 as to not have broken set-ups and to only be 1-Shot

But fuck Sensors

Stalker

Any Alignment

Essentially a fixed Tracker than can track it's target every night until either themselves or the target dies.

Motion Detector

Any Alignment

Pretty weak role, okay to use if you have a pretty op Town, basically just tells the holder if any actions were performed on their targeted player, but not what they were or who did it.

Reviver/Regenerative Townie

Town

Basically if this Townie dies, they then can revive after a certain time period is up and return to the game roleless.

You can also do a variant where someone Town is 1-Shot Reviver and they can revive a dead Town player and bring them back, but roleless.

Sketch Artist

Town. Maybe could work for Mafia?

Stolen from Chr1st0, who stole it from someone else

Usually X-Shot, holder of this role sends the host a 'sketch' of something related to the set-up and the host tells them if it's true or not. Add some restrictions to this, otherwise it can be used like a Cop.

Hexer

Mafia.

So this was taken from Katti's ??? Mafia. It's basically a Mafia aligned role that can hex a word and curse it and whoever says it first gets killed. There should be some restrictions to this. For example it needs to be a certain amount of letters 7+ at least and can only kill one person at max. Also, it shouldn't be able to be activated on Day 1.

Reporter/Journalist

Town

Okay, this one isn't really new or creative. But it's still quite rare I feel like. It's a good way to give an investigative role without overpowering Town. You basically a target a player at night with this role and learn if they 'left home' or not. Leaving home meaning they performed a Night action.

Vengeful

Pretty much always Town

A Vengeful Townie can kill a player of their choosing after their lynch. Can be a cool role due to the swingy nature of it, possible they kill a Mafia member with this role on their way out for a trade.

Night Wire

Town

Taken from Flay's Wire Mafia.

Non-Consecutive Night Wire, on odd nights you can choose a player by PMing the host and have their role revealed to you after the next even night, on even nights you can choose a player by PMing the host and have their alignment revealed to you after the next odd night, you cannot do these actions two nights in a row.

Judge

Town

Taken from Flay's Wire Mafia.

X-Shot role. You can make all the votes on a leading wagon at the time invalid (note: anybody who didn't vote on that wagon before the role has been used and votes on it after the role has been used will be valid). To use your role, bold your usage in the thread.

The Inquisitor

Any Alignment

You can target a player at night and learn what type of role they have (investigative, protective, passive etc) or if they have any role at all.

Percentage Roles (Katti loves them)

Any Alignment

Seriously, they're quite a neat idea if you don't want to overpower your town too much. You can have things such as 50% Cop 25% Cop, 50% Vig etc. Whatever you wanted to do. It does make your game a bit more random, but it means Town aren't always guaranteed results. With it having a chance at failure as well.

Kill Magnet

Town

Taken from Rop's Bleach Mafia.

Attracts all killing roles to target you at night. X-Shot.

Stump Maker

Taken from Doc's South Park Mafia.

Town

You may target a player during a Night phase once in the game. That player will lose their role and become a Stump. If/when that player subsequently dies they will still be able to post in the thread but will lose their vote. You may not self-target.

Gambler

Any Alignment

The Gambler gains roles by successfully predicting the next lynch target for that following Day phase. If their guess is correct, they gain a 1-Shot ability. Sometimes this is just restricted to Vig shots. This can be a good way to implement a weaker JOAT that needs to predict the correct lynch target first before it gets the chance to use it's abilities.

Mathematician

Any Alignment

The Mathematician can send the host a number between 0-6 and get told back something about the set-up that relates to that number.

ALSO, some of these aren't that creative, they're not just used much.
