Impact Now Covering Hotel Costs For Talent

Quote:
Impact Wrestling is now covering hotel costs for talents on the road, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

Impact had covered costs of hotels for talent while in Mexico but for events in the United States and Canada, talent had been covering their own hotels. Management had told talents back in May it was something the company was working on doing as a way to give back to the locker room by absorbing some of the financial burden of talents' road expenses. This would be the first time since Anthem Media took over the company that such a perk has been offered.

The hotels will be covered going forward as of next week's TV Tapings in Las Vegas and all signs are that this will be a new, consistent policy for Impact on the road.

It's insane that we're going to applaud a wrestling company for doing this.
It should be 100% standard across pro wrestling.

If you travel for pretty much any other line of work you get a hotel. Maybe not a 5 star resort, but you get a place to sleep.
Accountants aren't taking back bumps, but sure let's make wrestlers sleep in the cars and crash on couches.

Re: Impact Now Covering Hotel Costs For Talent

Will it be a general stipend? Ie $100 towards a room every night on the road whereby the talent could choose to upgrade where they pay the rest?

A good deal regardless, it's like a $20,000 bonus if you're on the road 200 dates a year.

Well, it should be but it's not, in like, 90% of wrestling promotions.

The carny side of pro wrestling is trash for most, we all know this.

But this is good news as far as those who are working with Impact.

Should have a Per Diem rate depending on Cities involved. General meal allowance per day of travel and day of show, and hotel. For Des Moines, $59.00 per day meal and $100.00 hotel. Chicago $79.00/$150.00. Turn in hotel receipt get reimbursed. Not rocket science.

Gotta take care of your peeps. I assume theres few things better than a loyal employee who’s happy to be work for you.

Seems like alot of places in general are taking on these kinds of business practices. The days of working people to the ground like worthless pieces of garbage without adequate perks and incentives should be long gone

If I were them, I would find a hotel company, maybe Best Western, or something that like, and see if Anthem could work out a sponsorship deal. Make them the "official hotel" of the brand, and advertise for them during shows, and work out a deal where all talent will stay exclusively at their hotels, for a discounted rate.

That's a pretty good idea. I think historically companies don't cover transportation/hotels, BUT wrestlers typically share rides, and hotel rooms to save money.

Also what's the different between getting paid 500$ a show, or 400$ plus 100$ or hotel/food. Now i'm not saying Impact is paying ppl less, but like maybe instead of a raise, they are covering hotel cost.
