Eli Drake Fired

https://impactwrestling.com/eli-drak...ip-terminated/

Quote:
Impact Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its relationship with Shaun Ricker, known as ‘Eli Drake’.
Quote:
PWInsider.com has been told by several sources that the riit cause of the termination was that Impact management was upset with comments Drake had made about the company on recent interviews and had already been unhappy with him after he refused to wrestle Tessa Blanchard at the United We Stand event that took place this last Thursday in Rahway, NJ. Drake had been very vocal online about not wanting to do it, so much that it appeared to be a storyline explaining the change to Joey Ryan replacing him. Instead, it was very much a real situation.

Drake’s deal was scheduled to expire on 5/31. The real question now is that since Impact has terminated his deal with is whether there are any the ripple effects legally to that termination. Most contracts in general have clauses that spell out the consequences of such a situation. It’s possible that Impact could pursue Drake financially for damages or impose a non-compete - and if so, the situation could be getting very messy.

Sunrise, wrong side of another day,
Sky high and six thousand miles away,
Don't know how long I've been awake,
Wound up in an amazing state,
Can't get enough,
And you know it's righteous stuff,
Goes up like prices at Christmas,
Motorhead, remember me now Motorhead!

Re: Eli Drake Fired

Hope this wasn't over him not wanting to work an intergender match.

That amongst others. He pissed off the locker room with his attitude, he barely does any independent bookings and is difficult to work with.

Re: Eli Drake Fired

Damn I enjoyed Drake. Here's hoping it's apart of his story against Impact Management but that has seemed to suddenly stopped so unlikely.

For once, a guy I wouldn't mind seeing leave Impact for NXT as it would be perfect for his skills. AEW seem more indy based whilst ROH & NJPW are normally more technical wrestlers.

Re: Eli Drake Fired

Damn Eli was definitely one of my faves over in Impact... im guessing he’ll be WWE bound but looking at situation EC3 is in right now he would probably best off signing with AEW as he could easily be a cornerstone there

Re: Eli Drake Fired

I've heard that he supposedly has attitude problems. He might have pissed off the locker room and management, and his refusing to work with Tessa was the final straw for them.

Re: Eli Drake Fired

That is what happens when you piss off a bunch of people in the locker room and you having a shitty attitude doesn't help your cause in the line of your profession. He should have just did that inter-gender match and maybe he would still be working in Impact.

Re: Eli Drake Fired

I was never that impressed with him anyway. He always came across as a mediocre rip-off of The Rock honestly.

He's already been fired by NXT. There was an excruciating promo at a house show featuring him and a quite extensive set of drums in the ring. He went soon after following some tweets about not being used properly.
