Possible Venue For April Impact Tapings

Quote:

With no venue announced and no tickets on sale for Toronto, it's becoming more and more likely the April Redemption PPV and post-PPV tapings will be back at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. A number of talents are actually hoping that's the case as they'd rather spend a week in Florida obviously, especially if they are going to bring their families.

Someone needs to take a wrecking ball ,to the Impact Zone and sound stages near it. Impact needs to go to sports starved states and do shows.I know money can be tight, but if they pick up sponsors it would help. How much money could they have been making by charging for parking and entrance ?

I'm sorry but i dont take talents side on this one. This is a touring business just like a musician. If they want to make progress well any event outside that studio is going to push that. The product haa proved time and time again that being in that place is holding them back.

Why would talent want to work in a flat place

I don't care if its in Orlando as well as its in the bigger soundstage (21?). Live PPVs always pull in a big crowd and they could fill it. Sound stage 19 is just depressing looking.

Don't think they are worried about filling a bigger Soundstage. Think that stage is used for something else now permanently so it's hard for them to rent it.

They used Soundstage 21 for Slammiversary last year.

Re: Possible Venue For April Impact Tapings

They should start doring tours every other week. 1 live show, and one taped show for the next week. They book one arena for each time, with a two night residency, for Thursday and Friday.

Then they can put on 1 house a show a week during tapings weeks and 2 during non-tapings weeks.

If they did this for a full year, it would still only be 130 shows a year, with is a very light schedule that would attract a lot of talent.

and if it works out perhaps they could do away with the taped shows and just tour live every week. It would allow an additional house show each week, which would bring the total to 156.

That's literally exactly what happened in 2013 when TNA went on the road with Impact and it was a massive financial drain on them. The cost of holding a show is ridiculously high no matter where it is. That's why they do the marathon tapings and do 2 months of television.

Ummm wrong. It's not touring itself that killed them but the scale they pretended to be at. Trying to rent big arenas with massive stahe sets. The massive sets is where the big drain was.

They wont grow if they dont tour and all they have to do is do small venues with a unque smalk stage and tape kike 5 to 6 episode's at each venue max

With Scott D'Amore and Don Callis on the executive team, I'm sure they want Impact to tour as much as anyone here. But they're now also privy to Impact's finances and whether they're in a position to draw from those tours or not.

Their plan most likely is to create a positive buzz for the product until there's a demand for it. Until then, it probably makes little sense to keep losing money with these tours when they're not even drawing.
