And here is the top ten (from Wrestling Observer) :

1. John Cena
2. C.M. Punk
3. Hiroshi Tanahashi
4. Bully Ray
5. Kazuchika Okada
6. Sheamus
7. Jeff Hardy
8. Alberto Del Rio
9. Dolph Ziggler
10. Kevin Steen

The full 500 will be revealed in the magazine. Five WWE in the top ten and two TNA. I think the list is from a kayfabe perspective, so unsurprising to see Cena on top. Not sure why Sheamus is so high though considering that he hasn't held a title since last October.

Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry drop out of the top ten, with Dolph Ziggler moving up to ninth.

I don't see why bryan marks would be sad especially considering this list is based on kayfabe....

even then

He beat cena clean for the wwe title and is now the focal point in a major story line...while #6 is gonna be out for the rest of the year and #9 is in mid card hell....same with #2 who is fueding with axel...Lmao

Sheamus was putting on solid matches all year, so despite how much I hate him as a character I can see why he's here.

But how did Dolph Ziggler have a better year than Daniel Bryan? He was practically jobbing to everyone.

Kazuchika Okada deserves to be in the top 3 though, but Tanahashi had an amazing year too, so it's ok.

It's obviously from a kayfabe perspective, in regards to who had the biggest year. Remember, Miz was number 1 in 2011.

When you look at some of the past PWI 500's, it's really not a shock to see guys like Sheamus and Del Rio in the top 10.

And I really don't see why anybody should feel some type of way about the list, considering it's nothing more than a publicized opinion.

Bryan should be top 10 at the very least. Embarrassing.

If it's kayfabe why in the blue hell Punk is #2? Honestly,so far he hasn't got a fantastic year.He lost the title at first PPV of the year and failed to get it back, then he lost at WM, left for 2 months and after return he scored a win over Jericho but then failed to capture MITB contract and got his ass kicked by Lesnar. He had some really great matches but #2? Come on...That list is a big joke every year.

On that basis shouldn't little Timmy, who's held the BYPWSM (Back Yard Pro Wrestling Syndicate of Massachusetts) Heavyweight Title for 2 years now, be ranked number 1?

Where you ply your trade is as important as what you did there on the PWI list. If two guys have solid years from TNA and WWE, the WWE guy will most likely win.

That being said I couldn't care less about this list every year - but unlike the many other people around here who say that, I never come into the thread and blow a gasket at the top ten.

I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT PWI BUT WHY IS BRYAN NOT NUMBER 1 AND BLAH BLAH LBARRRBRAR.

Honestly, PWI sucks at their Puro knowledge too. They just put some Japanese names in the top 10 to make it seem a "credible" list. Atleast they picked the right 2 guys in Tanahashi and Okada this year. Last year, they had picked Hiroyoshi Tenzan :lmao

I earlier said Okada should be number 1. On second thought, I think Tanahashi should have been the top spot. Held the IWGP Heavyweight belt for most of the time, had 2 matches rated 5 stars by Meltzer against Minoru Suzuki and Kazuchika Okada, reached the finals of the recent G1 Climax etc.

Bear in mind guys, the period of judgement for the list is August to August, so next year Daniel Bryan will be top five.

My top 5 from last August to this August would be:

1. Hiroshi Tanahashi
2. CM Punk
3. Kazuchika Okada
4. John Cena
5. Bully Ray

Lol no Byran.

Cena deserves it, to be at the Top #1
