Re: Imagine if this man returns for the 2012 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant

Three years ago, Sid was supposed to work for the promotion I work for, 304 Wrestling in Huntington, West Virginia. He was paid half his booking fee, his flight was paid for (which was the deal for him to come work). One of our wrestlers drove to Columbus, Ohio to pick him up at the airport, only, he never showed up at the airport. People accused us of baiting and switching because we had made him the focal point of our advertising (some of which I do, the posters). I used to be a fan of his, too.

Live and learn, I guess. We've paid less money for better talent since then, like Matt Cross, Brutus Beefcake, and last Sunday, Billy Gunn.

WCW:
Charleston, WV: 11/30/96 | 3/7/98

WWE:
Huntington, WV: 2/16/03 | 6/3/05 | 1/14/06 | 7/2/06 | 8/3/07 | 5/10/08 | 2/8/15 | 11/29/15 | 7/3/16
Lexington, KY: 8/16/03 | 7/15/05 | 11/7/05 | 4/30/06 | 7/12/10
Dayton, OH: 6/14/04 | 11/16/04 | 6/7/06
Columbus, OH: 8/9/05 | 11/6/06

Last I heard he was in good shape and if they wanted a legend to make a one-off appearance he would certainly be a very realistic option. Hopefully we'll get some old faces this year.

Heres the scenario

Sid's music hits

*awe of silence in the crowd*

Kid 1: Daddy whose that man?
Kid 2: I want to see Cena!

I am sorry but after being heartbroken at the reaction Bret Hart and Grand Master Sexay recieved over the last two years, I doubt they'll be "marking out"

The kids will shit in their pants as a tribute to SID

We Do Not Sow

"So many vows...they make you swear and swear. Defend the king. Obey the king. Keep his secrets. Do his bidding. Your life for his. But obey your father. Love your sister. Protect the innocent. Defend the weak. Respect the gods. Obey the laws. It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or the other.

A horse. Jaime Lannister to himself

Re: Imagine if this man returns for the 2012 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant

I liked Sid as a kid only because I thought he was cool. Even then I knew he wasn't the best wrestler around but I didn't care. Back then tons of mega popular wrestlers couldn't actually wrestle for shit.

For me Sid fit into this weird category of being a "WCW guy" who we'd dream about coming to the WWF one day. So when he finally came in it was a big deal. I think he was Sid Justice during his first WWF go around, then later Sycho Sid.

Anyway - I doubt he's in good shape anymore.
