Could any one star make TNA more popular than WWE?

Do you think any star, past or present could make a big enough impact on TNA to make it more popular than WWE in terms of ratings? What I mean by this is more consistantly popular not just a one off because they've advertised the debut of a big star.

My first thought and what I assume will be the majority of peoples responses is John Cena because whether you like him or not he is the biggest current superstar by miles and if he joined TNA there would definitely be a massive rise in their ratings.

My only other thought was The Rock as a bit part wrestler but regular promoter as this could be done even while he was shooting movies, however I could be deluded in this suggestion as, as the name suggests I am a massive Rock fan and would watch TNA religiously if he appeared on there.

Maybe but I really don't think the general public cares enough about wrestling anymore for there to be more than one big promotion.

Re: Could any one star make TNA more popular than WWE?

Well, we can see the effect the famous performers they get now is having on the ratings:
Ric Flair... none. Hulk Hogan... none. Jeff Hardy... likewise. Mr. Anderson.... i don't think so. AJ Styles... choosen by specialized critics the best of 2009/2010 and... no change in ratings. RVD... zip. Desmond Wolf... likewise.

So... the answer to your question: highly unlikely

Not a chance in hell.

You could actually swap the rosters and WWE would still manage to kill TNA in ratings and buy rates.

Why? Simple: credibility.

Re: Could any one star make TNA more popular than WWE?

John Cena is probably the only one who could, but even then, there's no guarantee because Jeff Hardy was one of the WWE's most unbelievably popular stars and he's done jack shit for them. I'm not gonna say that John Cena is on Jeff Hardy's level of popularity because he's long past that, but even if Cena left, all the kids would probably just say "what happened to Cena? " without looking or informing themselves, and TNA certainly doesn't have the brains to promote it.

People aren't construing the question.. he's asking if anyone from WWE would go to TNA and make them bigger... I think.

My answer is no. WWE has a fanbase with a loyal mindset and they won't budge for anyone.

Samoa Joe really?

Cena and Taker would boost their ratings but i doubt they would make it more popular. Look at their roster already Sting, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Mr Anderson, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair they have the big names but i think their problem is people just don't want to watch their shows, they could have Barack Obama vs Eminem in a street fight and they would stil get a 0.9
