I don't see Sheamus as a replacement to Batista, Skip Sheffield on the other hand is. But on the topic of who is better I'd say Sheamus is far better than Batista. Sheamus can really work and plays his part really well.
Sheamus is 32, been in the WWE for 1 year and already looks the part with that world title.
Batista was 36, having been in the WWE 3 years before he started to look the part of world champion material.
Sheamus still isn't world champion material. He's nowhere near as over as the guys he faces and he doesn't do anything but run away. What has he done to make people hate him? Bicycle kick Cena and HHH? He's remarkably average at everything and has the feel of one of Vince's monthly foreign monsters finally getting a title reign than being a legit long term star. Even a guy like Swagger can draw 10x more heat by cutting a promo full of random bullshit than Sheamus can get by putting HHH on the shelf.

Re: Sheamus vs Batista
I don't want neither one of them but I'd take Batista over Sheamus just because I can't stand Sheamus. I've grown tolerable over Batista but it still kills me how everybody became a Batista lover just because he went heel.
