Top Wrestling Draws Year By Year

I found this as I was surfing around, which I thought was quite interesting. I'm not sure if it's been posted before, but it's from Meltzer and shows the top draws in wrestling, done yearly.

The formula is largely based on matches that drew 10,000 fans (and an extra point if topping 20,000, a third point if topping 30,000, etc).

George Hackenschmidt was the first world heavyweight champion in history

Frank Gotch was the man who beat Hackenschmidt in front of 30,000 people, the biggest crowd seen in the US at the time

Ed the Strangler Lewis too was an immense wrestler. And probably the first Superstar.

Keep in mind this was back when wrestling was still shooting and two guys could go head to head for give hours without either guy picking up a win

Re: Top Wrestling Draws Year By Year

I always forget just how popular Konnan was in the early 90s. Not a whole lot of surprises flicking through, guys like Thesz and Rogers are to be expected. Surprised they've gone back so far too.
