Has the top babyface ever tapped out in a match?

Bruno, Hogan, Bret, Shawn, Rock, Austin, Cena, Reigns, Rollins, and anyone else I forgot. I don't recall any of them tapping out ever during their runs as the top babyfaces in the company. Any examples to prove this wrong?

The only person I can think of is The Rock tapping out to Chris Benoit.

Hogan did tap out to Angle's Ankle Lock but that was not in his top face days

Re: Has the top babyface ever tapped out in a match?

The Rock tapped to Benoit in 2002.

Brock came out and while Rock ended up distracted, Benoit locked in the crossface. Rock eventually had to tap.

Just want to point out, it's worth watching because you will immediately notice just how much better Rock is than the wrestlers today at selling emotion. As were other wrestlers in the past. Wrestlers today are basically "dead" in the ring. They don't really sell the emotion that well. But Rock tapping to Benoit was perfect. Just how he's holding on and how you can see him fade before he weakly taps. That moment encapsulates what I miss about the older wrestlers compared to today. With a lot of dudes today, they don't grasp these small details. It's a big part of why the stories today aren't as memorable. It ain't all booking, I'll tell you that.

SummerSlam 2004, Kurt Angle submitted Eddie Guerrero.

Why did Captain Robert Scott's wife leave him?
She was lack toes intolerant.

Hmm, 2002 was a bit of a grey period, but I'm not sure I'd say Rock was the top babyface at that point. Especially with WWE themselves even admitting that the fans had turned on him at that point, something they never acknowledged with Cena, Reigns, and now Rollins later on.

Guerrero was certainly not the top babyface at that time, or at any point in WWE.

You mean the guy that wrestled as the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania only a few months earlier, and had gotten bigger and louder chants than anybody else on the roster for over a year prior.

None of that still made him the top babyface though.

RVD got bigger chants than Rock and Austin in 2001 during the Invasion angle. Was he presented as a bigger babyface than them though?

I'm talking about top babyface booking wise, obviously.

I'm talking about more males here and rightfully so. Female babyfaces haven't always been taken seriously in the past. Just because they may be now doesn't change how they were treated before.
