What are your honest predictions for the upcoming changes in the pro wrestling world?

With RAW and Smackdown being given a draft to distinguish 2 exclusive rosters (or at least we hope) , NXT moving to TV, AEW debuting on TV and the likes of 205 live and NXT UK being utilised with NXT that is a lot of new dynamic incoming.

So keeping it all in mind, what are your honest predictions about how you foresee all these events unfolding? Success? Failure? Same stale genre with minimal change? The next pro wrestling boom?

I am curious as to what people think will happen.
Remember this is just your own predictions not a jumping of the gun thread.

My predictions for the WWE is that it's going to stay the same. Nothing will change with this company. People believe that when AEW comes to television that WWE is going to start writing good scripts. Those people will keep waiting.

As for Pro Wrestling as a whole? If you're a workrate geek you couldn't be happier. 205 Live, New Japan, AEW, WWE has there own spotmonkeys.

If you watch pro wrestling for the drama, storylines and characters, you're fucked.

Another big fall for WWE is coming and SD will be off Fox before WM next year.

AEW wont see massive growth in their numbers and people will call them failures.

Nothing will change because the ones who have any expectations are the same ones who have been seeing and consuming wrestling product for the last 25 years.

We can only be sure of:

- WWE brand being as profitable as ever because, since several years ago, they already have a business model that goes beyond the professional wrestling (television agreements, commercial pact with other companies, Saudi money) the audiences of their TV shows will continue to "fall to new levels" yet still both shows will be one of the most tuned programs of the demography to which they are targeted.

- AEW weekly show will have a moderate success in its timslot which will cause many "AEW is dying" threads because the shows are not reaching AE ratings, but the truth is that the television network has already done its market research and they already know more or less what their fixed audience will be.

Those who think that Fox and TNT have not done a market analysis before offering a television contract and a timeslot in their weekly programming are either people who have never been part of the labor market or are too small to understand how a serious company works.

Not so much a prediction as it is a hope, but ....
I hope a new wrestling war actually comes about and both companies bring it.

I don't care who beats who, who "wins" or whatever.
I miss the days of flipping between Nitro AND Raw because I didn't want to miss a second of either.

I can't wait for the first WWE wrestler/AEW wrestler to jump ship and it be a big deal.

Re: What are your honest predictions for the upcoming changes in the pro wrestling world?

I think this is the last major tv deal for any wrestling company. They got a great deal with Fox, the issue is the show being on a Friday night. Friday and Saturday are bad nights for any television show because people typically go out those nights. Problem i see with AEW is their fan base are mostly cord cutters and their ratings will reflect that. With 2 companies showing poor ratings I can see network execs losing faith in pro wrestling as a whole.

If you’re like me and just a wrestling fan who doesn’t care about ratings, it’s an exciting time for us. There’s just so much wrestling easily accessible and a lot of it is good.

WWE will be the same shit, not even worth to saying much.

And AEW, I don't know, I will give my verdict after their first TV show.

WWe will suck.

AEW... I dunno... hopefully won't suck.

But there's no "wrestling boom" coming.

WWe's ratings will continue falling due to the apathetic attitudes of their employees both in front of and behind the camera; but it wont matter because they've got Saudi Blood money and will continue to scrap together just enough viewers to get cable companies to throw money at them.

AEW... again I dunno... I hope they're successful... Hell I hope they're REALLY successful. But even in my wildest predictions I don't see them matching WWe's ratings... at least not for a year or two.

I think AEW won't do great numbers, allowing WWE to keep resting on their laurels.

Re: What are your honest predictions for the upcoming changes in the pro wrestling world?

I think NXTs stock will rise high

RAW and Smackdown continue to suck donkey balls and waste everyone's time

AEW will land with a big ol Meh and fail to make itself feel different enough from the WWE

NJPW will continue growing but will struggle as it has to confront a stale product and misusing Tetsuya Naito

Impact Wrestling will outlive everyone
