Why does WWE love so much to present their current roster as inferior to past talent?
Deliberately, they bring Austin back to sell the product, they put him in the ring with their blandest FOTC ever, Seth Rollins and make blatantly obvious who is the star of that show and how much a difference there is between the product they are giving in and the product they used to give. DIDN'T EVEN MAKE an effort to make Rollins equal too Austin, at least for that night.
I KNOW they do that on purpose, because they always threat old talent like the big shit, Taker, Goldberg always look like gods walking among peasants. If you watch the smackdown on FOX promotional videos, they used like for attitude stars and two presents.
WHY do they like to make so much emphasis on the fact that their current roster is shit and will never be as good as their old glories? How does that benefits them? Specially because they always try to sell matches like BIGGEST IN HISTORY and so kind of bullshit.. It is a big contradiction because YOU ARE ALWAYS telling us your roster is shit and old legends are gods compared to them.
For a business standpoint, they should do the opposite, as bad as their current roster is, they should try to sell it as if they were the greatest of all time, they should tell us Rollins is better than Austin and no the opposite, even if we know it's a big ass lie, but they should never stop trying to be better than they used to be.
