Well it's a weird mentality these days. Wrestlers (or company) think that if they'll constantly talk about prestige, this will sound hopeful and promising, and fans will cheer.
Yes, it's not a good thing at all. Everybody should go for the already prestigious title, not brag about getting a shit belt and making it relevant. If say The Miz "makes" the IC Championship relevant, than the belt itself loses credibility when Miz drops it. So.. that's basically what happens. So there is a big problem - titles are never prestigious.
