It's probably NOT a good thing that every Champ tries to "Restore the Prestige of the Title"

- We've heard it on Smackdown about how Nakamura is trying to restore the prestige of the IC title.
-We've heard it on Raw/SD with Bayley making promos about restoring the Smackdown woman's title.
- We've heard it from The Revival about restoring the Raw Tag Team division.
- We've heard it from Rollins taking the title away from Lesnar and trying to restore the division.
- We've heard it in regards to the Womans tag titles and the U.S. Titles.

There's other examples too.

If all the champions are trying to restore their divisions than there probably is a bigger problem at hand... Don't you think?

It's kinda like how Pharaohs always thought the Pharaohs before them were crap.

They're just lazily leaning into whatever the fans are saying about that specific title.

That's because they lack creative, so they write catering to what internet fanatics chat about. regular fans don't care about that stuff.

Imagine Perfect vs Hart in 1991, or Jericho vs Angle in 2000 being about "restoring prestige" to the belt.

WWE are just admitting that their titles aren't considered prestigious anymore due to the crappy product.

A rare moment of honesty from them

None of these titles have prestige.

It's not a competitive sport. They're TV props.

Re: It's probably NOT a good thing that every Champ trys to"Restore the Prestige of the Title"

Well it's a weird mentality these days. Wrestlers (or company) think that if they'll constantly talk about prestige, this will sound hopeful and promising, and fans will cheer.

Yes, it's not a good thing at all. Everybody should go for the already prestigious title, not brag about getting a shit belt and making it relevant. If say The Miz "makes" the IC Championship relevant, than the belt itself loses credibility when Miz drops it. So.. that's basically what happens. So there is a big problem - titles are never prestigious.
