Agreed, it makes the championship division feel low-rent and unimportant instead of top-of-the-mountain and larger than life.

How to bury your belts in one easy step: Just tell the few remaining fans who have cared about the last few title changes that they wasted their time doing so.

Give the champions some mic time to cut memorable promos, a couple of heated feuds, a couple of great matches.. AT LEAST.
All I see is a bunch of rince and repeat shit and nothing valuable to invest in.

I could probably name by order almost every WHC between 2002-2008 just for example, but not the past 2 years IC champ.I couldn’t tell u who was the tag champs 6 months ago!
Vince saw a squirrel and forgot about it.

Re: It's probably NOT a good thing that every Champ trys to"Restore the Prestige of the Title"

Well, yeah, there is a bigger problem. The people they're pushing aren't main eventers. It's like.....gee, I wonder what could've possibly gone wrong when the last 5 WWE Champions are Randy Orton, Jinder Mahal, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston. The title isn't prestigious? Well, color me the fuck shocked. Maybe a guy who could cut a promo every now and then would go a long way.....

There's a reason Steve Austin shows up and his star power overshadows everyone else on the roster. Hell, there's a reason the most over guy on either brand right now has done almost nothing but cut backstage promos for the last 3 months and is the only person in WWE with a character. This company doesn't remember what the E in their name stands for.

I thought people wanted to hold belts because being the champion meant they were the best at something and they'd get more money and opportunities from it.

If you tell me the title sucks, and you need to fix it, then you're already starting from underneath.

It is going to be hard to bring prestige to any belt when there are at least 12 belts in the company. They only need 3.

No wonder none of them are prestigious...
That's 22 belts across 5 brands and nobody watches all 5, I don't see how the existence of titles on brands you don't watch lowers the prestige of the titles on the brands you do watch.

I never hear about how too many titles lowers the prestige of NJPW's titles and they have 8 on one brand!

Totally agree. And this is an example of Vince's lazy, can't be bothered, one size fits all to creative nowadays.

I mean...why would a heel give a shit about restoring the prestige of anything?
Surely as a heel they should be very self centred and all about themselves? Nakamura should just see the I.C Title as another title to build his own legacy going forward. He shouldn't give a toss about the lineage of the title and past champions. He should be all about himself.

It would be a good idea if they actually did it! ...they meaning WWE creative and booking. Titles like the Universal Title and both Women's Titles were never built up enough to have any prestige.

The closest we saw to restoration was Miz who (somewhat) made the IC title seem important. They blew 2 big chances with Roman as both and US Champ and Cena as US Champ (Daniel Bryan as IC champ was cut short due to injury). Roman and Cena fought primarily midcarders in their reigns. If they (main event level guys) had feuds with other ME level guys that made it a point to pursue the titles and continued with main eventers holding them and challenging for the. afterwards, they would have been elevated.

Re: It's probably NOT a good thing that every Champ tries to "Restore the Prestige of the Title"

I feel a big reason why those titles were so prestigious in the past is because they were defended in literally every singles match that the champions had. Today these champions are constantly wrestling on tv in non title matches, and it's not that uncommon for them to lose those non title matches.
