Do you miss The Undertaker's Streak?

I feel like the Streak was one of the last, if not THE last big thing that I truly cared about in WWE. It was always one of the biggest parts of WM to me and it was always exciting to watch the feuds leading to it and watching the matches.

I feel like Lesnar breaking it, while a very shocking and memorable moment, was the beginning of the end for The Undertaker and killed a bit of his aura. Doesn't help that he has been overstaying his own welcome for at least 5-6 years either.

Nowadays WrestleMania doesn't excite me much anymore. Guys like Kofi and Seth aren't big enough to draw me in. The main reason I bothered to watch WM this year was because of Batista's return and feuding with Triple H. It's like I was a 9th grade kid again who was sorta new to wrestling.

As bad as WWE has been since 2010, at least the Streak was something that was still handled pretty well while it still existed.

Thoughts?

I miss the days I thought he was retired.

The streak was great, when it ended, so it should have ended Undertaker's career. Everything that came after the end of streak was painfull to watch.

When was that lol

And yes. Honestly, back in the previous decade that's how people imagined the end of Undertaker's career. Losing his streak at WrestleMania and then being carried away by druids and never being seen again.

Not at all. Never cared for Taker, so his streak was meaningless to me

Re: Do you miss The Undertaker's Streak?

I do. Iím a huge Undertaker mark and the reason the streak ending bothered me so much was because it took the one thing that made the Undertaker special away. 100 years from now people will look at the history of WWE and see Edge is a 14 time world champion and what does the Undertaker have? He basically has longevity and a really good record at WrestleMania. Thereís nothing measurable on his resume now that separates him from others when the reality is heís probably one of the best WWE ever had.

I will also maintain it didnít need to happen. Brock shouldnít of never gotten to the point that he needed to beat the streak to be over. Had they booked him better in his return and not had him lose to Cena right away and to Triple H none of this would he needed.

Re: Do you miss The Undertaker's Streak?

I miss the streak, but mainly i'm just upset about how they ended it. At first I thought "Well, everything has to come to an end eventually" , and I figured that it would be a cool way to show that The Undertaker as a performer is a lot more important than the streak stipulation. In hindsight though, I just don't understand what the fucking point was lol. I know a lot of people love Brock, but I'm not that into him. I think he's a good worker and usually puts on a good match (depending on the opponent), But I don't put too much stock in him as a character. Either way though, I think he could have gone without ending the streak. Imo, Taker should have gone for 22-0 and retired.

He should have retired with an unblemished Mania record. Funny thing is that for all the talk of a "streak rub", there ended up not being one at all.

Far as I'm aware since Brock's return he's only lost absolutely clean(no weapons, interferences, distractions, or other bullshit) to three people-

HHH, Goldberg, and Seth Rollins.

Re: Do you miss The Undertaker's Streak?

Not exactly...

I miss Undertaker being, for lack of a better phrase, undeniably respectable.

Every year after Wrestlemania 30 has seen Taker's reputation and by extension legacy get a piece chipped away; whereas if he retired after 30 or even after the Punk or "End of the Era match" the only people who would question his legacy would be trolls and blatant haters.

I'm not saying his legacy is permanently tarnished or destroyed...

But and shit like it doesn't get erased.
