Re: Let's face it wrestling is just "DEAD"

WWE is about to have its first weekly network show and its biggest competition since 2001. Thatís leaving aside all the thriving indy promotions. Kind of a weird time to proclaim wrestling dead, even if Raw and SmackDown are awful.

Who is going to watch AEW?

TNA already tried this and failed miserably. And they were way better than AEW is.

I hope AEW really do become the biggest challenge since WCW circa 1996 and 1997, but WCW was not built in a day. They also had a built in legacy that was recognizable before the WWF brand names took over.

It is the reason I am taking a more wait and see approach with AEW. The masses is funny. You never know exactly how they will take things in.

Anyone know what happened to the "I hope WWE dies" thread from this morning? I can't find it now.

Itís foolish to even compare TNA and AEW. They are completely different ventures, not to mention the fact that TNA has been around for 17 years and AEW doesnít even have a show yet.

And if youíre wondering who will constitute the audience for AEWÖthe tens of thousands of people buying tickets to their events are a good start. I need at least a year of their weekly show before I can draw any conclusions about their potential or actual audience. To do so beforehand is for fools.

Wrestling isn’t dead. It is set for a significant upheaval in the American scene though, with AEW making waves and NJPW starting to sell out shows in America without ROH. AAA in the US is an unknown right now, but might have some success as well. WWE, and maybe ROH, are the only ones in trouble.
