True, but thereís also a wide gap between the hardcorest of the hardcore and the casualest of casuals. Itís the lapsed hardcore fans and whatever they can attract from that in-between area that theyíre hoping will result in decent viewership. I donít think 1.5 million is unrealistic once they get established, and assuming they can maintain a consistently quality product. A lot is going to depend on the feel of the weekly show, which Iím very curious to see. I donít want WWE 2.0, but it also has to be something more than cameras at a house show.

This whole counter programming thing gives you a glimpse into the mind of that senile old prick. He doesnít give a fuck about the fans, itís just win-at-all-costs, even though thereís nothing to gain from Ďwinningí other than bragging rights. Competition would be the best thing for this business, and all he wants to do is eliminate it. They obviously donít give two shits about me as a wrestling fan, so Iíll say it again ó fuck WWE.

And while weíre at it, fuck you, too, Rollins, you have no fucking idea why we hate on WWE.

I think AEW is going to put on an entertaining weekly show. But I think that climb to 1.5 million viewers is going to be really really hard. They're not even doing that on YouTube, which I know folk will dismiss but they build themselves on YouTube. I just have a hard time buying they're going to easily outdo themselves on cable. Hell UFC shows on TV which a lot of folk think took wrestlings fan base consistenly struggle to do more than a million viewers.

I think with the Elites fanbase and curious recently lapsed fans I think they'll do about 500k-750k weekly viewers for the first year.

As far as the counter programming, its petty and rushed, but I mean I don't know what you expect there. No business in the lead truly wants competition. There's a reason the businesses that are open to working together tend to be the ones not in the lead. While as a fan or worker sure AEW providing competition is great, but for WWE there's more negatives than positives. Heck even with AEW there's a reason their current talent share programs are with AAA and OWE and not a US promotion. Best bet is just hope AEW continues to outperform their counter programming.

Yeah Seth was tripping

Re: WWE to 'test counter programming' on Saturdays against AEW PPVs

It's a smart move by WWE because of what someone else said earlier about the casual viewer, they are not targeting us and we're the decisive minority in this situation. For us it looks completely ridiculous because majority of us would always pick AEW, but business wise it's actually smart at least for now while AEW is extremely unknown to the casual viewer

They are bound to watch and copy what works with AEW and call it their own.

Re: WWE to 'test counter programming' on Saturdays against AEW PPVs

So it's going to be another PPV (or "Network Special" as they like to call it)? Considering that their programming is already bloated with a ridiculous number of live shows, I don't know why anyone on the fence would choose WWE unless they're a die hard fan, in which case they shouldn't have anything to worry about.
