You need to be yourself, you can't be no-one else.

Re: Did The Undertaker ruin his legacy ?

basically like ric flair, hes spent so long out of his prime at this point that its hard to remember him in his prime without reminding yourself. Based on that he kind of has, my first thoughts that come to mind about taker these days is negative, not positive.

he is fucking dreadful in 2019 and shouldve taken his criticisms about hogan in 2002 and applied them to himself after WM 30.

I would even go as far as to say that taker is as bad as hogan ever was at this point, if not even worse.

he will always be a "legend" but theres no doubt in my mind that hes ending the last fraction of his career on a rather terrible note. My respect for him has certainly taken a knock because its gone from overdoing it to him knowing it must be time to hang it up and yet still continues to do it.
Tag89 and Mugging of Cena like this.

"I remember how you used to shine back then, you went down so easy like a glass of wine my friend, when the dawn came up you felt so inspired to do it again but it turns out you only get to do it once."

You can't give me a reason, I don't need one to shine, You can't give me a feeling 'cause it's already mine

Yes. If he retired 3-5 years ago he would have been remembered as the GOAT. Now he is a tier below the likes of Austin, Bret, HBK, Flair, Rock, Jericho maybe even Cena IMO.

Re: Did The Undertaker ruin his legacy ?

Just bear in mind he didn't start having good matches and feuds until 1996 and even then it was inconsistent. He's had a career full of ups and downs, though for the past four years it's almost entirely been downs.
Mugging of Cena likes this.

"There's very little admirable about being a pirate. There's very little functional about a pirate. There's very little real about a pirate." - Will Oldham

I wouldn't say he's ruined it, but he's definitely making sure the movie about his life has a sad ending.

Re: Did The Undertaker ruin his legacy ?

He's tarnished it if anything.

He'll still go down as one of the greatest big men in history, a great gimmick and a great worker at times. Never the best on the microphone but he didn't need to be and he'll ALWAYS have that long Wrestlemania streak ingrained into the company and it's biggest ever show.

Seriously can a mod close this thread please? It's like the 5th thread I have seen on this and no you can't ruin your legacy, what is done in the past will always have been done and have been great, he is just not furthering it with greatness. Repetitive, boring and unintelligent thread.

Brock vs Taker at HIAC 2015 is widely considered a great match. Feel free to disagree but know that you're in the minority.

Dude wrestled at 50, wayyy past his prime and sure the match was a clusterfuck, but don't think it defines his career. He's still one of the greats.

at half way decent. That match was an all-time classic.

His matches against CM Punk (WM29) and Brock Lesnar (Summerslam and Hell in a Cell) we're all good to great.
