Is WWE starting to try to emulate the attitude era?

Hardcore title (technically) back, dark lighting in the crowd.. Well that's a decent start.

Good job Vince, now get ride of the PG rating, turn the edginess on, improve your storylines, try to create big stars and give wrestlers shit ton of freedom to say and do a bunch of crazy stuff and you got it.

- There's nothing hardcore about the belt.
- They darken the audience in the 3rd hour to hide empty seats.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

The fact they'd prefer change some lighting and add a 12th title belt to the main roster instead of just providing us with entertaining characters and storylines sums them up

Lipstick on a Pig......

Though if you're right they will half ass it like everything else and try to be a mix of AE and PC and the shows will get even worse (if thats possible) I'd like to be optimistic about it all, but the WWE has a long way to go before I get overly optimistic about anything involving them in the short-term.

You need to be yourself, you can't be no-one else.

sure if the attitude era is a pissed off Lion and the PG era is a rabbit with "boo" painted on its nose.

I got bored and tuned out within 30 minutes, like every other week.

This...

and

Have people actually listened to the deafening silence in the crowd when Foley pulled out the belt?

Re: Is WWE starting to try to emulate the attitude era?

Yeah, there's been a few small signs of it for awhile:

-They had men assault a woman at the Rumble (Nia) and then they wanted to book her in a match against one, but unfortunately the sponsors put an end to it.
-Alexa Bliss being caught topless in her dressing room months ago
-Sasha and Becky having "wardrobe malfunctions" within the same week. I still believe these "accidents" were intentional.
-Stealing one of Russo's worst attempts ever at being "edgy" by breaking kayfabe on the show (Ronda calling wrestling fake and scripted while in-character.)
-Now the 24/7 Title (even though it isn't necessarily the Hardcore Championship.)

Reminds me a little of late '95-96 where the show was still PG-oriented as a whole but you could see where little things began slipping into the show more and more that was gearing it towards an edgier product as a whole. I want to be optimistic enough to think that's what will happen again here, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm trying to be positive, but I fell asleep about ten minutes into the third hour last night. I'm only interested in whether or not Big E will turn tonight too.
