Would you consider the Wrestling Observer a dirt sheet?
Meltzer for all of his faults as of late actually has reported accurately a lot more than the BS. For example, he reported Lesnar vs Rollins was the planned match for the title, and he was right.
Meltzer is right about so much. But apparently that is disqualified when if reporting on a gated carny business you report hearsay or something that shifts. It's a completely illogical way to think, especially when considering how impossible it would be to guess some of the things he reports as fact. This isn't tea-leaf reading. It's so weird how people can just dismiss the things he says will happen when they do happen and call him a bullshit artist because he voices an opinion or reports on something that doesn't end up happening.
Like, has any of these critics actually ever followed any sort of journalism before? What do they think it is?
Skip to an hour 40 in and give it a listen. One example of many to why I can't take any of the stuff he reports with anything but a grain of salt.
But you can only lead a horse to water, can't make them drink it.
I'm not going to believe Eric Bischoff on Eric Bischoff. That's insane. This is a guy who fucked with Sting, Goldberg, Bret, Jericho, Benoit and Eddie and was baffled when TNT dropped WCW because they were $62 million in the hole and Riki Rachtman didn't bring viewers back en masse.
