Had this on VHS. Along with two Rock tapes, and Austin one, some taped episodes of Raw. Vivid memories of val venis getting his "pee-pee" chopped off and Billy Gunn having poison ivy on his ass cheeks. Loaned the tape to a friend so he could see Jacqueline's wardrobe malfunction and he never gave it back.

Jeff Jarrett vs Bradshaw for the NWA North American Title. It was January 1998, right before the Royal Rumble. I don’t remember the match at all, but after the match Stone Cold came out and gave Jarrett the stunner.

I’ve never thought about this until now, but it is kind of peculiar that the first WWF match I ever saw was a NWA title match.

First I remember is seeing the great Muta spray his green mist, probably over a jobber. Would've been 89/90 when NWA was shown on ITV in the UK late at night. I was hooked instantly.

Closing time. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

Re: The very first wrestling match you saw?

Sometime in 1990. Hogan/Warrior WM6 is the first match I have some recollection of and I saw it when it first aired. But I know I watched the build to that WM on WWF Superstars and WWF Wrestling Challenge on Saturday and Sunday mornings leading up to that WM. So, probably a match on one of those shows on the 'Road to WM 6' between January and March of 1990.

Hogan vs. Orndorff in the famous 'tie' cage match- SNME 1/3/87

For non-WWF wrestling it's the even more famous Flair vs. Windham match from Worldwide a few weeks later.

I was about 4 years old and I just remember seeing Ric Flair’s entrance with the blue robe and thinking “this must be what god looks like”

I saw VHS of the 1990-1995 era big 4 PPVs repeatedly, but the first event I saw in real time was the 1998 survivor series tournament where The Rock turned heel to join the corporation. I remember Undertaker and Rock immediately being my favourites
Buster Cannon likes this.
