Yeah VERY interesting because WWE in a way know what's up and are playing dumb to the fact the audience is decreasing. WWE's advantage is "live sports" weekly programming which may explain why Fox wants Smackdown to be more sports oriented(I think WWE as a whole should be more sports oriented too, but that is another thread all together).
This reeks of a work.
Please leave the writers alone, it's all vince not them!!!
Fuck outta here.
I agree and by this I mean NONE OF THIS is hard to make up. Vince Mcmahon has ALWAYS BEEN STUBBORN. Anyone who was around 1995 to 1997 online KNOWS this. Vince was BASHED heavily for NOT CHANGING UP RAW.
An example is Scoops telling WWE to tell Vince to STOP with the BAD IDEAS such as Godwinns opening up RAW against Hogan and the NWO. That it was a RATINGS KILLER as fans would obviously take Hogan and The Outsiders promo over a Godwinns match everyday of the week.
VINCE FINALLY LISTENED and followed what Nitro was doing when he made Austin open up RAW with a promo followed by HBK with Legion of Doom interrupting. That one change made RAW feel so different.
So, all this stuff about it's all on Vince and so on has ALWAYS been the case. It is just really showing now to hardcores for some reason. The masses saw Vince's stubborn nature with John Cena and it eventually killed the old guard of fans imo.
Let's say HHH is frustrating. Big deal as was HHH frustrated when fans were bored to tears when Vince was having him do his reign of terror? Who knows exactly what this creative team actually comes up with? Just because THEY may feel it is a good idea doesn't actually mean it is either.
All I know is when Russo was in his prime (97-98) and Kreski (99-2000) Vince was all over the product too, but he knew damn well to mesh what his lead writers were telling him.
Vince is much older now and probably the real life heel 2001 Austin in terms of being paranoid someone is out to take his position. With that said, WWE has been sucking for years for the most part and no one has been able to muscle Vince into following their lead. John Cena who was the biggest star of this new age doesn't even really question Vince's ridiculous plans or vetoes.
People hated guys like Austin for vetoing Vince's plans at times as being egotistical, but anyone remember Bischoff saying back in the day that a lot of the great stuff in the WWF in the 80's were really the men around Vince with the storylines like Hogan vs Andre for instance?
What OP posted is not something new at all about Vince which is why it is so easy to believe it. If it is true, it is not surprising either because Vince's ego is bigger than Hogan, Rock, and Austin put together although he has reason to be. No one has the success that he has in history and is why he probably doesn't trust HHH, Steph, and Shane. That was quite clear in that Forbes interview years ago when he didn't declare any of his children as heir apparent.

NOW that would get mainstream people talking. HHH breaks up with Stephanie and goes to the competitor? RATINGS!
Of course, Steph and Vince probably secretly have it where HHH will have a divorce clause of no compete clause lol.
I've said it too...
- Imagine if George Lucas never sold Star Wars to Disney, and kept making films for the franchise every year from 1999 onward.
- Imagine if Star Trek: Enterprise had never been cancelled, and Rick Berman was still at the helm - 32 years after he launched ST:TNG
- Imagine if Verne Gagne still had the AWA...would anything have changed from 1983?
That's the same as Vince McMahon running creative now.
Yeah, you are on the money. If it wasn't for Bischoff and Heyman we would have never seen Vince change the product in the mid 1990's. He was what Bischoff did claim and that was the 90's Verne Gagne which ironically put a fire under Vince after that comment where Vince became 80's Vince for the 90's stealing the best concepts and making stars again.
im just a little bit suspicious that this guy hits literally every single high note of the internet anti-vince list of grievances
reads like it was written by Ace or something
Yeah, this reeks of something. Sounds like a way to explain to online fans why ratings are plummeting. THEY ALL NEED TO TAKE THE BLAME if no one is standing up to Vince.
This is why guys like Hogan and Savage jumped in the 90's when Vince refused to use them in a way or direction. He had no more creative juice for them, but we saw what happened a couple years later in WCW with fresh approaches.
Hot take time.
Vince deserves to write it out exactly as he wants. His company. He'll bear both the failures and successes and unlike traditional publicly traded companies, he isn't prone to either shareholders or directors.
If it's a steaming pile of shit which it is, so be it. People have too much of a protectionist stance on WWE. If it fails, it fails IMO.
In the 90's I was a huge protectionist and did not want to see WCW wipe them out. It was so much fun seeing them crawl back to the top of the mountain handily. It is part of the reason why I am so upset at seeing how they have completely turned their back on what got them out of that dire predicament to begin with.
They have become what they accused WCW of being. Out of touch and lacking creativity by not having new stars and living off their legacy. As we saw that only lasted for so long in WCW before the fans just couldn't take it anymore. This is what is happening now to WWE. Things looked promising around WM 30, but it has been all downhill since.
It still wasn't anywhere what it was in 2000-2, but at least it was watchable here and there with some star power. Now it has become like WCW BEFORE Hogan jumped ship.
