Backstage morale said to be "Really Bad"

Quote:
Itís no secret that there are a lot of unhappy wrestlers today in WWE. Many have asked to be let go and only a few have been granted their releases.

Some wrestlers like The Revival, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows are expected to leave the company when their contracts expire and others are considering their options.

During Sundayís Wrestling Observer Live, a caller asked Bryan Alvarez about the morale in WWE and how it would compare to other times in the company history.

The morale was bad in the early 90s and at times when the Kliq was around by Alvarez indicated that the morale in todayís locker room may be the worst itís ever been.

Alvarez said the following about the bad morale compared to years ago:

ďAll I can tell you is morale today in WWE is so bad. Iíve heard it from multiple people. Iíve heard people and theyíll say it Ďmorale is bad.í Iíll say ĎIíve heardí and [theyíll say] Ďno really bad.í So like I donít know. Itís probably been maybe the worst itís ever been. Iím not sure. I know it was bad in the wake of the Invasion [in 2001 after WCW was sold]. I know a lot of people were unhappy then for different reasons. The Kliq made some peopleís lives miserable, but not everybodyís. In 96, 97 and 98 things turned around and everybody was making a lot of money. Maybe the early 90s but itís bad [today].Ē

It will be interesting to see what Vince McMahon will do in the next few months. The declining ratings are a big deal right now and itís clear that the Superstar Shake-Up is not enough to fix their problems. A major overhaul for the product might do the trick to get ratings up and, perhaps, give some frustrated Superstars a fresh start. At this point, thereís nothing to indicate that McMahon plans on overhauling the product.

Least surprising news I've read. It was only a matter of time before this came out.

Like the sinking of the Titanic, as Rome is being sacked by the Huns, whilst the Beatles are breaking up.

This is the perfect quote for the Alvarez/Meltzer types: I don't know. Probably. Maybe. I'm not sure.

Re: Backstage Morale Said to be "Really Bad"

Keeping people there who don't want to be there is lockerroom poison. Vince should let anybody who wants to leave to leave as long as they're not in a current storyline. And then just force them to stay long enough to write them out.

Re: Backstage Morale Said to be "Really Bad"

It really isn't hard to imagine at all. There's literally nowhere on the card you want to be. If you're a main eventer you have to do their horrible stupid angles to increasingly disinterested crowds. If you're a midcarder you're jobbing to their main eventers. If you're not being used you still have to travel and show up backstage every Monday/Tuesday despite not being used. If you want to leave they won't let you leave.

Aside from the money (which probably isn't even as high as it SHOULD be) I honestly can't think of a worse situation you could be in if you work there.

This isn't good to read this. If your talent is unhappy then that would only make things worse, last thing the WWE needs right now.

Re: Backstage Morale Said to be "Really Bad"

Iv heard a few times on Bruce Prichard podcast that if a talent is unhappy Vince would let them go. Why a change of heart now?
