I donít think everyone in the locker room has forgiven Hogan based on some interviews I read. Personally I canít stand Hogan. You donít say the stuff he said and not be a racist.

What Hogan did was so minor compared to the things many wrestlers have done.

You still see people defend Benoit when that motherfucker killed his own son and wife. Hogan says a word in a private conversation and people want him erased from history.

I think most of these people already hated Hogan and wanted something they could use against him to attempt to justify their irrational hatred for someone playing a character on TV.

Why do Hogan marks always have to shit on Austin and other wrestlers in these threads. Hogan is a shit person for more than just his racist rant where he says 'Yeah, I'm a racist'. That is just one of several reasons people don't like him. Accept it instead of always whining about it.

Hogan is not entitled to people's admiration, Hogan fans really just need to accept that for some Hogan will always be tainted after that rant came out.
Probably because they're insecure as fuck that they need everyone to like him to feel validated and make it OK to like him even after what he said.

Honestly for me I don't like him on the basis of what he said. Racism is not cute and it's not something that should be excused like people do on this fourm.

What happened with Benoit and what he did to his family was a tragedy. But his legacy has been erased and people don't defend his actions. You are using something awful that caused their extended family and friends to lose their loved ones to defend a piece of shit. Stay classy.

Agreed, it's like come on are you really surprised that saying something that offensive permanently lost him some fans. Plenty of celebrites have lost fans and got hate for way less offenses. Honestly losing fans over that racist rant is one of the most reasonable explanations for why somebody lost a bunch of fans over night.

You list Austin as one of your favorites when he got drunk and beat the hell out of his wife. Does that make him a bigger piece of shit?

And I'm a huge Austin fan. But in no universe is saying a racial slur worse than a man beating up his wife.

Re: Most people have forgiven Hogan. It’s the internet that makes it seem like he’s so ‘notorious’.

Hogan made some very stupid remarks-- and was immediately portrayed as a grand wizard of the KKK. I could understand the ongoing resentment, if there was a documented history of Hogan harboring hatred and taking action (i.e. discriminating against black wrestlers). Everyone has said hurtful things they're ashamed of.

Just this week, Big E even tried to get all self-righteous on Twitter about it. Despite his flaws, Hogan is the biggest star in the history of professional wrestling and put it on the mainstream map. If Hogan never rose to prominence, the WWE and professional wrestling as we know it today might not exist-- and Big E wouldn't have his lucrative seven-figure job.

I like Austin because he was my favorite as a kid but I don't defend his domestic abuse issues. Nor do I whine about others not liking him for it. Nor do I use things other people did to defend that. Nor do I try to minimize what he did.

A racial slur is just a word, if it was just that most people wouldn't have as much of an issue. He admitted to being racist and his rant was disgusting. And that's just one of many reasons people don't like him. Get over it.
