I don't understand the Triple H hype at all. Am I just crazy?

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't care for Triple H taking over WWE at all and I actually think it's an awful idea.

I'm not impressed one bit with most of the "talent" from NXT. Most of them have completely floundered on the main roster and have not improved ratings, and Hunter is a guy with a long history of having a massive ego which led him to begrudge ACTUAL talent. He tried to sabotage The Rock's career early on, he treated CM Punk like shit for years. He came out of retirement for no reason just to pin Punk when he was red hot.

And Hunter is also EASILY the most overhyped and overrated performer in the history of the business. WWE tries to revise history and make him a much bigger deal than he actually was, he played 2nd fiddle to Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Foley, and HBK for most of his career.

Agreed totally.

People have jumped onto HHH and treat him like he's some kind of savoir because he's gotten behind a few flippy Indy guys that everyone loves. But HHH has an even bigger ego than Vince has ever had. HHH with full power and no Vince to answer too means HHH will just interject himself into everything all the time. Look at recent history, every time someone get's hugely over HHH has to get involved, because he thinks if he's involved with as many stars as possible it'll make him into the Big Star he's always wanted to be. He crippled CM Punks momentum at the height of his popularity. He had to be the centerpeice around Daniel Bryan at the height of his popularity (to be fair HHH did great work in that feud, that was the last time he really delivered). He bogged a recently returned Brock Lesnar down in a drawn out three match feud. He teased a feud with Braun Strowman at the height of his popularity. And he even stuck his nose into Becky Lynch's popularity.

That's what HHH does, his ego means he always has to be involved with anything thats popular.

And onto who and what he pushes. He's literally just as bad as Vince McMahon when it comes to who he pushes. Vince prefers guys who look like Stars and HHH prefers workrate guys. But either way they're both close minded, and both exclusively push their guys and ignore everyone else. NXT is still full of wrestlers that get over, but dont get pushed because they don't fit into HHH's plans/ideas.

If you haven't actually watched NXT and you've just experienced them through the main roster, then yeah you WOULDN'T get it.

It's not the talent ALONE that makes Haytches presentation work. It's the booking. It's the presentation. It's the comprehensible and enjoyable storylines.

It's a WORLD of difference when it's in context. Look at Finn NXT vs main roster. Same dude generally. Worlds apart.

The only thing unpopular about your post is not caring for NXT. Everything else was the standard "HHH has an ego because he beat somebody I liked, I heard he was mean to ____, and he wasn't bigger than Rock or Austin" go to marks against.

Truth is HHH the wrestler is severely underrated by a lot of hardcore fans because folk take dirt sheets and shoots to serious and take him pinning guys they liked to personal.

Can't comment on HHH the promoter, as I've never watched NXT aside from a handful of lauded matches. As a talent, I've always felt HHH deserves an equal amount of credit and blame for his many giant failures and successes. Oftentimes, his reception is extremely slanted one way or another. I don't think he's at all an all-time great, but he has done some tremendous work no question.

Once he takes over people will truly and finally understand how much easier it is to book for NXT over the main roster.

Vince is far from perfect, but Triple H won't magically make everything perfect. The problems run deeper than even Vince.

Bait thread. Or you've never watched nxt. Tag team wrestling actually has stories there. Even the ascension was over. You can't blame guys for not moving the needle when they're stripped of everything that made people care

NXT fans are the hardcoriest kind of wrestling fan, the smarkiest of them all, the absolute nerds of wrestling.

NXT is not a show for me, or for everybody, but for them.. That shit is like a paradise, so they worship HHH as a god.
As you see in this thread, NXT fans don't understand that NXT product doesn't appeal every kind of wrestling fans.

It's true its a word apart, but not in the way you think.

Pure spite. He has a fantastic mind for the business and has lived the life for decades and tho he is with Steph, he has sacraficed a huge amount of his time to eat and breathe it every day. Ask any big CEO who they want as their replacement when they retire they will say someone with that type of work ethic, and NXT as a product reflects how much he loves the business.
