Re: WWE Championship Raw/Smackdown/NXT
I don't care if there are two World Titles as long as they are treated equally. Problem is that the Raw title is treated as the real WWE Title and the actual WWE Title is treated about the same as the IC title.
I like AJ but as popular and good a wrestler as he is, he's not a megastar. WWE has killed it's own historic heavyweight championship by making it play second fiddle to the likes of Brock and Roman. As much as I like AJ, he just doesn't have the megastar prestige that Brock has and he doesn't have the full power of the WWE itself behind him like Roman has. The only real way to make the real WWE Title regain the same level as the Universal Title would be to hand it off to somebody else. And yeah flame suit on, I'm talking somebody like Cena.
Everybody complains about how the WWE Title should close PPV's and be the main title and the source of spotlight. Well the reason it doesn't is sadly because of booking AND because of who holds it. AJ is arguably one of the best wrestlers in the world but he simply does not have the mainstream star power that these other guys have, regardless of whether or not he is a better performer than they are.
All of the huge names are on Raw, Smackdown doesn't have anybody to give the WWE Title to who is on the same mainstream level as somebody like Brock Lesnar. So the WWE Title will always remain in the shadow.
You want the WWE Title to be more important than the Universal Title then you have to give it to a person who they themselves is more important than a title. People who main event PPV's whether they even have a title or not. Which sadly means most of the people who we don't want to see holding belts in 2018 because WWE hasn't created anybody as big as them since.
