all those youtube wrestling analyzing sites that talk about the product sucking has lead to this company getting a billion dollar contract.
Yep no matter how shit they are they still going make a lot of money. It's the social media era. All the ad revenue they probably generate through youtube, facebook it's probably in the millions of dollars. TV deals are contractual so they don't actually lose money if the ratings are lower, and with the network they are making more money then they did with the PPV model. There product is hot garbage they just have a too many sources of revenue for it to actually matter. The budget cuts are all bullshit by the way. They have more then enough money for different stages and pyro. WWE has just gotten lazy.

If they make money regardless if the product is good or bad then they have no incentive to put effort to make it better. They have no competition. They are lazy.

Sadly, I think the death of Mr MachMahon could be a recession. Or, it could lead to success. Not because of the IWC "Vince is ruining wrestling" idea. But, it will attract attention to the product. At the same time, a lot is bound to change in WWE with his passing and it won't all be good. I won't say a huge recession, but it won't be a great growth period in wrestling once MacMahon passes.

Re: What Will Trigger the next Wrestling Recession?

To me we've been in a recession wrestling wise since 2006. To me it hasn't been the best but as someone who's been watching for 27 yrs. I've seen it worse.

Re: What Will Trigger the next Wrestling Recession?

We are in a recession right now, CAN IT REALLY GET ANY WORSE?!

Its gotten to the point where WWE have denounced their ties to pro wrestling period.

Despite what you may have heard about so-called "smark marks" and the "IWC" some of us are actually here to help. All you have to do is ask.

It should be 100% standard across pro wrestling.

Re: What Will Trigger the next Wrestling Recession?

WWE was never perilously close to going out of business at any time in the mid-1990s. Despite what Vince may have said at the time.

thats what pisses me off the most.... exactly. Lazy. We can argue through the roof about bad writing, but in the end, the thing that pisses me off the most is the "lazy" factor of the WWE. Yes that plays into writing (lazy writing), but it also goes into lazy ways of introducing characters, having matches, or coming up with unique ways to do things on television on a WEEKLY basis.

It's even as small as...look at MIZTV the past few years. It's just chairs. Barbershop was a COOL looking set...pipers pit was a COOL looking set.. etc.

the brand split sucks
