Re: Bruno Sammartino Passes Away

WOW I'm late. I just saw this on an instagram explore page. I was on a hollywood website earlier and saw in the corner the Hof induction promo and though it was so random. Now I know why.

Glad he got his just dues and respect at the end of his life thanks to HHH.

Legend!

Re: Bruno Sammartino Passes Away

I had never heard of him until around 2012 when he was brought back and shown to the new generations of fans during his Hall of fame induction. They really did a good job showing the younger fans just what a legend he actually was and how amazing his accomplishments were.

RIP Bruno.

Re: Bruno Sammartino Passes Away

RIP . One of the all time WWE greats.

Did I just stroll back into professional wrestling? No.
I shawshank redemption'd down that bitch. And I'm been on a full sprint ever since, so we're gonna go fast.

Re: Bruno Sammartino Passes Away

He was before my time but I've really grown to appreciate him and his work. The greatest champion to ever step foot in the squared circle. A fighting champion and a true class act. The blueprint of a man. We'll never see the likes of him again. Bruno used to defend the title several times a week. Sometimes twice in a day. Kind of hard to imagine in this day and age with the guys we have now. 82 for a wrestler is amazing though. It really speaks to his character that he was able to stay away from all the stuff that took his contemporaries.

RIP Bruno. I had the luck to see when HHH revealed his statue at AXXESS in 2013. Bruno looked so happy. I am glad he made peace with the WWE.

Re: Bruno Sammartino Passes Away

I just realized something, Bruno died around the same time as Superman's 80th anniversary.

One of Bruno's nickname was the Italian Superman and they tend to make a big deal of his status as an immigrant (like Superman's Kryptonian background being inspired by his creators' Jewish background) especially how he was popular among other ethnic groups in the US. He was also 82 when he died. Weird coincidence.

I don't consider myself a Mark or a Smark, just a Pro-Wrestling fan.
