Meltzer says Taker vs. Cena is still happening

According to Dave Meltzer, WWE still has plans for John Cena and Undertaker at WrestleMania 34 and seeds will be planted in the “the next few weeks”. For the next few weeks, Elias will feud with Cena after Royal Rumble. He’s taking the place of Samoa Joe who is out with an injury.

The fuck? Elias is approaching white hot heel levels and they're going to job him out to a part timer, so that part timer can headline WM with another part timer in a match no one wants to fucking see.

Re: Meltzer says Taker vs. Cena is still happening

Elias is probably a filler feud for Cena so he can get a win over a Heel.

RIP Elias

Didn't Meltzer say the build for Cena/Taker would start at Raw 25? Could be making that up, but I'm sure I read it. Just waiting to see at this point. I did think starting a feud between the two when Cena is in the Rumble would be stupid. Wouldn't be surprised to see it start Mid-Feb (if it does).

I just realized it now, Undertaker will never retire, he will always act like it was his final match and WM, but he will always return next year, always... Till he dies.

Funny thing is, he was dead set that the groundwork is laid at RAW25.

Didn't happen so now he has to pull the plans changed card

At least it's Elias and not Joe. Feuding with Cena at all will raise Elias's visibility and could make him a bigger deal than he already is, Joe having to be Cena's side feud and then get shunted off for his real feud with Taker when the time comes wouldn't be good for a guy that's already as big of a deal as he is.

WWE in a nutshell. A new star gaining momentum as a Heel, we can't have that. Elias looked great with both Jericho & Cena. Shame if they are going to give him the Rusev treatment.

It's why I wasn't getting interested in Elias/Cena as a feud last night, despite the segment being solid, because I knew exactly where it was heading.

Re: Meltzer says Taker vs. Cena is still happening

Please don't do this

If you turn Elias into another filler jobber for Cena he'll probably never recover. No one ever has

PLEASE swerve us. Put Elias over Cena at the Rumble AND put him over Undertaker at Wrestlemania....
