Joe v Lesnar - A lesson to everyone else

Samoa Joe, after having a lacklustre debut on the main roster and a lacklustre feud with Rollins has just come out of the feud of the year against Lesnar.

Now, a lot of credit has to go to the guys who booked it and managed to Lesnar on screen 2 weeks in a row and have him get hammered in one of thsoe appearanced but a lot of credit also has to go to Joe. He upped the anti, wasn't going to be intimidated and each time he mouthed off to Lesnar, he did so with some real intensity which just made him seem like a star on a comparable level...even though he isn't. To top it all off, he actually got a good match out of Lesnar and put to bed this nonsense that Lesnar doesn't want to work in tough matches anymore (shame on Ambrose).

So ,what are the lessons that other stars can learn? Grab the damn moment! Do not be intimidated and do your bit.

Lesnar gave him 10 minutes, yay. The match is one of Lesnar's better matches recently since it wasn't exactly a squash but it could have been so much better. I wouldn't call it a good match though just because it was one of Lesnar's better matches. IDK if that's Lesnar's fault or the management not wanting to give Joe more time. The feud's buildup has been great. Hope it continues but I think they will move on.

The lesson here is impression. Joe went toe to toe like Lesnar and came out of it looking like a beast. Even if he lost, he still looked good while losing. Like Stone Cold losing to Bret Hart at Wrestlemania. Only wish the match had been longer so it would have been a real slobberknocker of a match. Maybe they'll be able do better if they face each other again.

He looked like anything BUT a beast. He jumped Lesnar from behind, put him through a table, failed to get Lesnar hooked in his finisher 3 times, and despite having taken virtually no other damage, he lost to 3 suplexes and an F5 despite Lesnar being hurt. That's your "beast". And to make matters worse, before AND after the match, Lesnar laughed in his face and blew him off like he was a joke. Didn't show any sense that he was challenged at all. Didn't put him over in the slightest.

This was not Austin vs Bret, the one time in history somebody got over by losing. People need to stop using that as a justification for losing. Losing never gets anyone over, and when that match was over, Joe felt like another guy who didn't belong in the ring with Brock, and he'll feel like that even more when Reigns (who is not even close to the level of Brock) kicks his ass and pins him next week.

brock is stealing a living lets be honest.

3 months off for a 6 minute match is some brilliant work balance.

brock must have one the best deals ever to be written on paper.

I wouldn't call it a "good match." Look at Lesnar's matches against CM Punk @ Summerslam 2013, Triple H @ Extreme Rules 2013, and Cena @ Extreme Rules 2012. Heck -- you can even compare with his matches against Undertaker in 2015.

Those matches were high quality. The match with Joe was just a step beyond Lesnar's matches with Orton and Rollins.

The lesson is that if Farm-Boy Mariah Carey throws a temper tantrum at the thought of having to be in the same ring as Shrinky-Dink Toby Kebbell and it coincides with falling ratings/attendance, The Roided Crypt Keeper still busy fapping to his delusions of his 50-11th WM attempt at making Jason Momoa's future stunt double into his 50's ideal of a wrestling Superman, and there being a wrestler with size/skill that hasn't been around long enough for the leaches and muppets in the back to get a stick too far up their asses about. You can get a solid build and match from Mr. 350-Days-Off and Old-n'-Lazy-Inc.

It would be a great lesson if it actually leads to the Joe/Lesnar feud continuing and Joe getting to shine even more again Lesnar. Though since its not going to lead to that and if anything it just gets Joe in a 4 way match at SS then moving on and they just continue on with Reigns/Lesnar as the plan. The lesson for the other talent is going to be it doesn't matter if you make yourself stand out things don't change for you, and so you can continue to be complacent and collect your paycheck.

He didn't look strong in defeat. A beaten-down Reigns can kick out of three F5s but a fresh Joe can't kick out of one. The latter attacked Lesnar from behind before the bell rang, put him through a table, used a low blow behind the referee's back, tried to lock in the Coquina Clutch three times, and still lost. Not to mention, he lost to three suplexes and one finisher. He looked like someone who didn't belong in the ring against The Beast. The match only lasted a few minutes when it should have lasted longer. It was a great feud but that's it.
