Re: John Cena Says The Torch Has Been Passed.
The torch has been passed, but the WWE is on the moon right now and people are scrambling in zero gravity to try and grab it while it's floating around endlessly. What's both scary and infuriating about WWE is that they don't have a backup strategy in the event of an injury.
Cena is the man in WWE. He's the Austin/Rock and Hogan/Andre of his era and that can't be argued, although he can't do this forever. If Roman Reigns is truly the direction WWE are going in for the new torch bearer then who is the backup? When Cena debuted, you also had Orton, Lesnar and Batista in the mix, all of which were capable of being relied on.
Orton, IMO, has always been overshadowed by Cena but he's up there as a main event player, Batista is someone I always look back at as someone who made SmackDown what it was and dominated, and WWE obviously have a hard on for part timers in 2017 because Brock "I went to UFC and came back and now I'm a cunt" Lesnar is on top.
What it all boils down to is that they don't actually know how to give Roman the torch, and they're simply not capable of forward thinking in terms of the future of the company. WWE will always be the goal for many, many indy guys wanting to "make it", but what competition or motivation have you really got if "the guy" is Roman Reigns?
Scary future for not just WWE but wrestling in general. So like, is Vince gonna kick the bucket or what?
