Re: Let's face it The Shield guys, failed as main eventers

ambrose, yea, his popularity seems to have worn off a lot over the last year, hes probably just in the wrong era and therefore hes having to be watered down.

rollins, yea, he really needs to work on his promo skills, his acting is poor and just isnt much to talk about outside the ring which proves problematic when you need to get people interested in you to get them to actually watch your match

I cant agree on reigns, the guy could be fire if creative stopped trying to push him as cena 2.0, I dont really see the hate in roman, its the creative thats ruining him, I was really into the guy the night after mania, felt like a proper heel, then it was all down hill again after that, I will agree though that he should really drop the shield gear and theme but maybe thats too far along now, hes too associated with that look to drop it.

as vince said to rock "we can either continue to force you down peoples throats or turn you heel because people want to boo you anyway"

Two of the Shield guys consistently lose whilst the other ends Takers Career, beat the League of Nations every week in handicap matches, wins the Rumble when the stipulation is whoever eliminated him gets a title shot, Spears Steph, ends Babyface's?????? undefeated Streak, holds his own against Lesnar. Still can't get over

Rollins is the most talented of the 3 but he's injury prone and nearly missed consecutive Wrestlemania's.

All 3 have issues but Roman and Rollins have hope in the long term, Ambrose isn't good enough for even the midcard and he's killing the mid card title.

And this is all his fault? He is telling the company "Hey don't make me defend this IC title on the main Wrestlemania card and I don't wanna defend it at the next one either" and Vince said "okay pal"? Why are people suck marks around here?

It has nothing to do with being a Mark or his booking. Ambrose is not a talented guy in any way.

The fact he took the title off the Miz who is better in the ring, on the mic, has a better look, is more charismatic and is immeasurably better in every way.

Ambrose has had far better booking than he deserves, he's a guy with a very low ceiling he's had a lot more opportunities than he deserves and he's mostly been disappointing. He either should have lost at Mania or been in the battle royale.

Re: Let's face it The Shield guys, failed as main eventers

Yet again, more people acting like Dean is the one who's making the decision not to defend the IC title. Yeah, cos I'm sure he books his own matches and thought to himself "oh I don't think I'll defend the IC title at Payback!" Dean even said himself during his US title reign (ya know, the one people shit all over him for like it was his decision then too?) that he wanted to defend it more, but WWE thought The Shield's storylines were more important. How is that his fault?

Re: Let's face it The Shield guys, failed as main eventers

They're victims of some horrendous booking and overexposing, even Reigns who got one of the biggest pushes of all time. Each one of them were on the way to reach their full potential at one point.

Rollins was booked perfectly during his initial heel turn before being turned into a chicken shit heel who lost to everyone and their grandmother. Then when he first came back in 2016 to be the face that everyone wants to cheer, but no, he's a heel Damnmit! And of course the worst face turn of the last decade.

Ambrose was very over in 2014 before being turned into a losing clown. He showed a lot of promise during his title reign, he made a feud with an over the hill Ziggler interesting! But it was too late I guess and he didn't get a chance to shine. And now he's back to square one.

Reigns could've been huge if they let him get over organically and establish a fanbase, but they kept forcing him down our throats in such pathetic and desperate ways (Rumble 2015) until he became the most hated face of all time despite showing progress. A heel turn ain't hapenning so there's no hope for him.

This company forgot how to make stars, and when someone starts to reach some level of stardom, they either bury him or control him to make him as forced and as uncool as possible.

All Time
Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, Mankind, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Batista, Cm Punk, The Rock, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero

Current
Everyone is buried.

Rollins should never be a face. He has so much talent as a heel, and a great chemistry with all the people he worked with - from Kane to J&J.
Him as a face just doesn't click. It doesn't allow Seth to show off how good he can be.

CENSORSHIP

When the Shield boys stop being a priority in WWE then you can make a thread like this. They've been main eventing PPV's the last 3 years. Whether you like all three members or just one, they've all been pretty successful.

Re: Let's face it The Shield guys, failed as main eventers

I think they have not been able to reach their potential as stars because of the company. They have the potential to become Top Stars but their booking has been awful since the split of the group. They found themselves in the wrong alignments since the split of the Shield and they have been ruined by the company's choices over the years.Ambrose is a natural Heel trapped in a bipolar booking that makes him act like a goofy uncle and during the years they have destroyed the character created by Jonathan Good to create this weird goofy anti-hero who behaves as bad ass a day and then the next day he has to put over a plant and spray ketchup in Kane's face.
Seth run as champion was awful because of the booking. He lost to every superstar in the roster and they made him appear as one of the weakest champions of all time. His run as champion it started great with a beautiful WM moment but they treated his reign as a joke with the passing of months. His return could have made him a bigger star but they dropped the ball and they have been unable to remedy the mistakes made in previous months when the feud with Triple H started.
The way the have booked Reigns is a trainwreck and we have had so many discussions about it which is now useless to continue talking about the mistakes made with him.
Are they stars?Yes
Do they draw money?Yes
Should they be bigger than they are?Yes
Have they reached their full potential? Not yet.
Is it their fault?No.
Do they have chances to become larger than life stars?Yes
Will they become larger than life stars?I don't know.
They have potential but their potential alone can't push them over the limit and make them stars. The company needs to realize they made mistakes with these guys and the company should learn from these mistakes to avoid repeating the same bullshit again and help these guys to reach their potential and become the stars they could/should be.
But, this is WWE, they never learn from their bullshit.

Its his fault for making nobody care about him, the belt he's holding and whether he's on a pay per view. The fact he's the IC title holder is being swept under the rug.
Jam likes this.

Nixon Newell is fantastic, click the spoiler to see why. Hope she wins the WWE Female Tournament.

Spoiler for Nixon:
