It's inevitable that NJPW will offer him a big opportunity to jump ship and wrestle again. Imagine Bryan Danielson v Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, or Katsuyori Shibata headlining a Tokyo Dome show in the future. $$$ and wrestling orgasm.

Its gonna be very interesting when Bryans contract is up. Vince is gonna be in a bind. Cause there is no way Bryan is re signing unless he gets to wrestle. Vince is gonna either have to let Bryan wrestle and hopes he doesn't get badly hurt or let Bryan go wrestle somewhere else like in NJPW or ROH and hope he doesn't get as big as he was in 2014.

Maybe he could be a trainer if he absolutely must stay in the industry.
One thing that I actually LIKE about WWE is that when somebody gets old or otherwise becomes generally useless to the company, they seem to often give them a job doing SOMETHING.
General Manager allows somebody who doesn't have enough charisma to sell talent as a manager or would overshadow their "client", BUT IS VERY OVER to have a role.

A lot of people whine about how this leaves the company reliving its past, but fuck that. Loyalty is actually a GOOD value.

This is what its going to come down to. Rightly or wrongly, Bryan still is passionate about wrestling and wants to be in the ring again. His comments during some backstage segments and Talking Smack seem to indicate he is waiting for his contract to expire next year. Him and C M Punk are perhaps the two most over wrestlers over the last 5 or so years and any promotion that gets a hold of them would have eyeballs on its product. Their is definitely a huge risk involved as far as Bryan is concerned though with so much focus on CTE and any mishap in the ring could result in multiple lawsuits, financial penalties and negative PR for the organisation involved. But the upside could be pretty huge as well. It is a quandary for WWE and Vince because as you said, Bryan could go on and become a huge player for an organisation like the NJPW.
I would love to see Bryan wrestle but definitely not at the cost of his health. And it remains to be seen if his perspective and priorities change after the birth of his girl. I just hope he thinks things through and makes the best decision for himself and his family.

I prefer him to be trainer but that's just me.
