Pretty obvious Taker was supposed to retire last year at WM 32

Looking at the Reigns/Taker storyline and how it ended, it looks likely that THIS was the story planned for Cena/Taker last year. They were hinting back in 2015 that Taker was going to retire with the whole 25th anniversary thing at Survivor Series 2015 and then Cena/Taker was going to happen at WM32, most likely main event, with Cena winning and Taker passing the torch. Obviously that fell apart with Cena getting injured and Taker didn't want his match with Shane to be the last of his career so he held on for one more year.

Lol.. Taker was done after 32 and said as much. It was Vince that insisted on one more go to put Roaming Range over as a Top Heel.
