Dude, yes it does.

Look at the main roster alone. Rollins, Joe, Zayn Owens, Styles, Aries, Cesaro and guys like Punk and Bryan. What do they all have in common? They made big in ROH long before they made it big in WWE.

Look at their roster. The core of it is made up of guys who made it big in ROH first. You think these guys would be as big now and profitable for WWE now if they didn’t have that platform in ROH first? Of course they wouldn't.

And plus, a place like ROH gives guys other opportunities to find work in the business. As a fan of wrestling in general, I want the largest amount of places for these guys to work and make a living as possible. You take away a place as big with as my connections as ROH, it hurts the wrestling business overall.

Sure there will always be alternatives, but there still hasn't been a successful 1 in 16 years and that isn't gonna change if things keep going the way they are.
Would be easy to keep ROH at the top half of the States and NXT at the south. NXT has shown they can flip tickets in places like Texas, Florida, Cali, NOLA, etc like hotcakes on mini tours. ROH can run Phili, Chicago, Detroit, and those places. They could split the PC talent up between NXT, UK, 205, and ROH.

What better way to gut punch NJPW and CMLL than take ROH away from them and their talent exchange? WWE does that and then they can move on to the next 3 goals.

- Female tourney and show
- Latin America (Mexico/Puerto Rico) and Asia (India/China/Japan) territories
- 205 Live independent touring

WWE can't even book their own roster properly, so their solution is...to go out and try and buy another company and to acquire more assets and contracts that they can turn around and continue to not use properly...

I just can't wait to see how WWE fucks this up. Invasion 2.0. Adam Cole is going to debut as a fireman, the Briscoes will be broken up and put on separate shows, Jay Lethal will end up in a stable with Titus O'Neil, Will Ospreay will be doing shitty comedy with losers like TJ Perkins, they'll dress up Cheeseburger as an actual cheeseburger and have him manage Kevin Owens...its almost amusing to consider the failure.

It would be a tremendous hit to the development of the next generation of wrestlers.

Local pizza place gets bought out and turned into a Pizza Hut.

Damn that's depressing. WWE's developmental has developed NOBODY worth a fuck from scratch. WWE will kill their own business if this happens.

I know you didn't say that. Idk to me I'm just confused on why the story is "I hope WWE doesn't further their Monopoly" (which I get) instead of "how the fuck did ROH, let it get to this".

Like WWE buying up all the alternatives isn't going to end well for fans. WWE buying competition isn't optimal, but I can't blame them for buying it. If ROH is in a position to be bought, why wouldn't they. To me I think fans have to start really questioning the goals of these other promotions. Like none of them seem to have any plan to actual challenge the WWE, besides TNA. Most of them just seem like they're too fine with being a niche product in an already niche business. I think that hurts the business a lot more than WWE being the only name in town.

ROH is still pretty solid indy promotion. The thing with these other promotions is also that those have their own cultures and working styles etc. It is not good if every wrestler start their career in wwe and work that same style from the beginning.

I made a similar statement in a thread a while back about WWE being of the mind and means to undercut New Japan's expansion and somebody said that Bushiroad would just throw money at it to ensure WWE couldn't do it. I just think that ROH is the smartest path to undercut New Japan because it takes away most of the talent and the TV presence that talent has. They then be in the position of starting from scratch with how to present them to North American audience unless they are content running shows that have 500 people at them which i don't think is New Japan's goal.

Lol, love you just ignored the rest of my post. Just ignore the fact that if ROH goes down, it takes jobs away from wrestlers, which is not a good thing at all.

They are still raiding talent from places like ROH to this day. Adam Cole, one of their biggest stars, will probably be there soon. And Iím not blaming WWE or Cole for that. This is all a business, guys should go where they can make the most money so they can get out of the business comfortably.

And Iím not going to even crucify WWE because if another promotion had the same resources, they would do the same thing.

But this notion that if ROH went under it wouldnít be a big deal. That is just asinine. Again, it gives people places to work. It gives people a fairly large platform. They have relationships with companies like NJPW that gives wrestlers even more opportunities. And it takes away a place for WWE to raid talent from.
