I hear what you're saying. SD could have had a pile of hot feuds waiting.

HHH vs Eddie
HHH vs Undertaker
HHH vs Mysterio

But then, JBL wouldn't have gotten his push if HHH worked tuesdays.
Well Batista was not being pushed as the top guy, Cena was, which is why in 2005 they moved Cena to MNR and Batista to SD. So Cena deserved that rub of beating HHH at WM for the top title of the brand, not Batista. And yeah HHH could of came in and feuded with Eddie and take the belt off him and defend it against Eddie, Taker and Rey in good matches and storylines. JBL could of done wonders still as a main eventer or atleast upper mid carder.

I read he didn't want to be put in a taped show that's why he stayed on RAW.

It was a remnant of a planned future HHH/Lesnar feud for WM21:

Imagine a Cena during that time who was hot and popular with the crowd and fans in general, going over HHH who was the top heel of the company at WM for the WWE Championship.
I never saw JBL as Championship material. It's bad enough he can't wrestle for shit, he also stunk of the low-card. HHH not going to Smackdown was a big loss (IMO). I really wanted to see a HHH/Eddie feud. Also, Cena would've been officially crowned "the man" by going over HHH at WM21.

HBK heel turn would have been nice.. and playing the top Heel for Raw.
