There needs to be less "happy go lucky" wrestlers

Anyone tired of people dancing and smiling and celebrating on their way to the ring and acting like a moron like Dean Ambrose, New Day, No Way Jose, etc? I miss the old days of Austin, Rock, Chris Benoit, Kane, Kurt Angle etc guys who would storm to the ring to kick some ass.

B-but... They're having fun, Maggle! :jbl

Yes. We need more real men and less "omg I'm living my dream" dorks.

Name 5 more guys who're "dancing and smiling and celebrating" on the way to the ring not called the New Day or No Way Jose? (Dean Ambrose doesn't do that tbh.) Seems like another thread attempting to pander to the anti-smarks.

As for the OP there is NOTHING wrong with a happy face who gets the crowd hyped for their matches. Hell, I don't even like NWJ all that much but when he walks out I smile.

I don't give a shit about your weird little smark/troll war you guys have going on here. Its a formula that used to work, bad ass wrestlers like austin, rock, angle, benoit, etc coming to the ring to kick some ass. Now there are guys who come in acting like dumbasses like Dean Ambrose, New Day, etc making this whole thing look like a joke.

Name 5 more wrestlers who come down to the ring "dancing and celebrating and smiling?" I'm not having a war, I'm just saying you're talking out of your ass, because you are.

Re: There needs to be less "happy go lucky" wrestlers

A bit more seriousness would be nice now and then. Hardly anybody seems to even care when they get screwed over. Oh sure they'll whine a bit but that's it. They don't really feel angry or intense. Even the supposed bad guys are this way. Owens and Jericho, the top two heels on Raw, are comedy heels. Rusev is a borderline comedy heel too. Maybe he's not supposed to be, but the guy is booked like a total loser and a joke who is no more threatening than a mouse.

That's why I was so glad that AJ finally snapped on Ellsworth. That look of pure disgust on his face when James tried to stand up to him was great. Someone actually seemed seriously pissed off for once on this show, like they were totally through playing around.

Hiroshi Tanahashi/Kazuchika Okada/Minoru Suzuki/Daniel Bryan/Asuka

Samoa Joe/Tetsuya Naito/Tomohiro Ishii/Meiko Satomura/Jay White

Maybe not dancing, but WWE has definitely put an emphasis on comedy/light hearted shit compared to serious.

Styles is a comedy character with a local jobber. Owens is a comedy character with Jericho. Dean did a whole night of comedy a few weeks ago. New Day will never be taken seriously. Enzo/Cass are bordering on becoming New Day. Slater/Rhyno are a comedy pairing. Cesaro/Sheamus are trying to be Slater/Rhyno.

So he has a point about too many talents on the roster basically offering the same thing, which is not being serious.

Re: There needs to be less "happy go lucky" wrestlers

I don't mind the dancing for say Rich Swann or The New Day because it's braggadocios. But the generally upbeat peppy nature of most of the faces is annoying. Outside of the Shield guys none of the faces are the least bit surly, mean, or combative.
