Eddie Guerrero's death and the subsequent booking of Rey and Randy Orton's storyline for me was the worst. The fact that Vicki was involved also did not sit well with me.

Makes me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan.

Personally I couldn't care less. We all know WWE isn't above that.

My thoughts are that LU uses people's deaths to built feuds in much more intriguing and interesting ways. And it's never offensive because it's actual kayfabe deaths

Re: Thoughts on WWE using death to help build feuds?

It is almost always a cheap, & horrible way to build heat for a feud. It was cheap & horrible when they did it with Rey & Orton, it was cheap & horrible when they did it with Charlotte & Paige, etc.

If you have to rely on the real-life death of someone, just to get people interested in a fake wrestling feud, then you're shit at writing wrestling, imo.

If the family's okay with it then sure but we can use less of people like randy Orton saying Eddie's in hell to Rey Mysterio.

Thoughts on WWE using death to help build feuds?

I'm okay with it if it's done in a tasteful way. I would have been fine if Rey Mysterio payed tribute Eddie after winning the world title and that was it , however brining him up every 5 minutes and having Randy Orton saying he's in hell for cheap heel heat was just plain disrespectful.

Re: Thoughts on WWE using death to help build feuds?

on paper i'm ok with it, as in i don't have a moral problem with it and to be brutally honest i don't give a fuck how people would feel about it... but, the story revolving around a dead person or hell most of the storyline involving a wrestler personal life to me are so lame that really in the end i prefer they wouldn't touch on those subjects

that and it's so painfully obvious they are desperate for heat that often it doesn't even work that well

Re: Thoughts on WWE using death to help build feuds?

For me, the use of real family death is distasteful.

My main problem with it is that it's just "cheap heat". Some insulting comment about a dead family member, or turning up on RAW dressed as a recently deceased roster member ... it gets a decent crowd reaction on the night, but aside from that all it is, is remembered as "one of the times WWE disrespected a dead guy".

I don't care whether the deceased, or their family support the inclusion of it in an angle. My opinion would be to avoid it, as it's a short term measure to develop a feud that'll be over in a few weeks ... yet, the disrespect will be on film forever.
