This was my exact fear when I heard the brand split was happening.

Everyone kept talking about how deep the roster was and how great it will be, meanwhile I was just sitting here like

Like you said, sometimes having long feuds is a good thing, but you can tell with most of these feuds like Rusev/Reigns, WWE is drawing them out by need, not by choice. There's no reason these feuds should be lasting 3 months.

Complete and utter failure on every level.
That's why I'd already edited my post to say this weeks SD rating hurt my case.

But it's still pretty obvious that the ratings would be significantly worse if there had been no brand split though, a 2% drop in a year much better than Raw and 95% of all shows.

And it's still up on last year by more than 15% in demo which is more important to ad revenue and thereby all involved

I'm hugely in favor of longer feuds but the guys need chemistry for it to work, Roman and Rusev have very little.
Ambrose and Rollins for example have great chemistry and I enjoyed their prolonged post-Shield feud.

Casuals just don't care for them and never will. I don't get bothered by it anymore, if they don't want to adapt then who gives a shit? Indie wrestlers are the best and only option for WWE right now and it's not debatable.

Because wrestlers arrive at NXT with no background and become legends!

Don't know of many stars who did not pay their dues in the indies on some level.

I see aries as an dolph ziggler type. mainly a mid carder but can be in the main even also. I disagree with you highly on samoa joe tho
Where exactly do you see Joe going??? He doesn't have what it takes to be a top guy with the current landscape of the WWE. Mark my words, he'll come in wreck a midcarder or two to look like a real badass and then be used to put over Roman or another face

Would we prefer to go back to so many guys getting underutilized or relegated to meaningless stuff?
They donīt have to book a wrestler on every show with or without a split. Chris Jericho for example can be on 3 smackdown and one Raw next month and 3 Raw and no Smackdown the next. Itīs all in the hands of the bookers and Vince.

But thatīs the problem. They donīt know how to do a good job.

Adapting to the death of the business. These guys do not draw and turning us casuals away from the wrestlers that actually look the part.

Unless they go to Raw, in which case they're dead. They'd have Joe and Asuka as cowardly heels within months, jobbing them out in meaningless matches every week. Nakamura is the only one that would have even a chance of getting treated like a star.

Hiroshi Tanahashi/Kazuchika Okada/Minoru Suzuki/Daniel Bryan/Asuka

Samoa Joe/Tetsuya Naito/Tomohiro Ishii/Meiko Satomura/Jay White

Re: Realistically How Long Can The Brand Split Survive With The Current Rosters?

They just need to add a bit more depth to both rosters and start making people care.

I think Smackdown is in a lot worse shape when it comes to their roster depth, yet they churn out the better product. Why? Because they are actually making people matter. Heath Slater the biggest example of this. Unfortunately, the majority of their roster is made up of tag teams and besides Ziggler, Miz, Corbin and Apollo Crews, they haven't really got a midcard, especially as Wyatt and Orton seem to be above that at the moment - I hope the majority of the next NXT call ups go to Smackdown.

With Smackdown so thin till Mania, unless they pad it out before then.
