He's just talking shit for the sake of talking shit.

I'd thoroughly discuss this but I cared little for Bagwell in the 90s and even less in 2016.

I have seen fans go crazy for Joe. Other than females I do not recall seeing fans go crazy for Buff. He was good but not as good as Joe. As far as the Wal-Mart test I wonder if Buff would pass it if he was dressed down in normal clothes.

Buff Bagwell made his living dancing around and being oiled up by women as old as his domineering mother. With those comments did Russo offer him a spot on podcast panel like D-Lo, Disco Inferno and other midcard late 1990's losers that think they were draws because they happened to be around with the likes of Austin, Rock, Goldberg and the NWO?

These fucking size marks. If Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins both walked into a Walmart, more people would notice Kendrick Perkins because of the size difference. One is an all-star and one of the top 10 players in the NBA, the other was medocre at best Center. Doesn't mean shit. If Buff Bagwell gets recognized, he's remembered for two things, being a fucking jiggalo and embarassing and pretty much destroying the WCW brand with his embarassing performance against Booker T on RAW. I don't Booker gets enough credit for saving his career. Most guys would have gone down with Bagwell after that match.

I can't stand Joe and how his mediocrity gets ignored because people heard he once had a ***** match with CM Punk but Buff's hating here. Joe has clearly drawn money the past 9 months. Not astronomical, industry changing money but far more than Buff ever did.

Re: Buff Bagwell: Samoa Joe Isn’t A Draw, CM Punk Wouldn’t Pass The “Walmart Test”

Why would I give a crap what Buff Bagwell says? The guy is pretty much irrelevant at this point. Also as I recall, he wasn't exactly a super-draw himself either.

Also I'm pretty sure that if you saw Bruce Lee in a Walmart back in the day, nothing about him would immediately stand out to you visually. And yet the guy was awesome and became an icon the world over in a short period of time. Ditto on Stone Cold for that matter.

Looks aren't everything, or even the most important thing.

Re: Buff Bagwell: Samoa Joe Isn’t A Draw, CM Punk Wouldn’t Pass The “Walmart Test”

CM Punk's one of the most popular wrestlers in the world and he hasn't even been in wrestling for 3 years. It's not all about size, it's about having a "unique" look and getting that unique look over, which Punk successfully did. So I don't really agree with him on that. Obviously Hulk Hogan is going to get recognized more than most people, he's been wrestling's top guy since the fucking 80s.

If Buff Bagwell walked through Walmart at his peak of popularity, no one would know who he was despite his look. Not that I disagree with some of what he said. I never saw Joe as a mainstream success, and still don't. I think the jury has always been out on him and Owens, and so far Owens has been....nothing.
