oh and don't forget all the "injuries" that happen 2 or 3 times a week, all year round

I'd probably be ashamed of WWE, but I could watch LU, PWG, or NJPW in front of a non wrestling fan friend everyday.

Trying to have fun with some wrestling edits here !

No, never have been, but imbecilic segments do try my patience.

Re: Are you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan?

Back in the late 90s it was actually cool to like wrestling. People who never watched an episode in their lives were watching every week.

Then it went bad again, and now real bad. I haven't watched in about 6 or 7 weeks, although I have tuned in here on the forums regularly. But what did I see last night - a bunch of guys sitting on ladders, using kindergarten language like "you stuipid idiot". I thought, how could it have gone THIS bad in only a month or so.

It really is amazing, how this company used to put out such an entertaining and respectable product, that captured so many of us as kids. I see no connection between what the WWF/WWE was and what it is today. I do not have one single clue how they remain selling tickets and are keeping their TV contracts. It's the worst it's ever, ever been. After the segment I saw last night, I was thinking, they hit rock bottom. But I'll bet if I catch another episode in another 6 or 7 weeks from now, that somehow they'll have found a way to degrade the show even more.

I honestly can't see this company staying on the air and selling tickets in the years to come if this is the way things are going to be. Who the fuck are the fans going to see? There's no more superstar-type guys anymore. Cena? He actually showed his age in one of those segments last night, he really does look like he's getting older now. He lacked his usual enthusiasm last night. Cena aside, who the hell is in this thing anymore? It's all legit nobodies now. You gotta think they're in a freefall right to the very end here.

If I enjoyed the current product today, I'd be ashamed to admit that because it is utter garbage and is a kids show these days in my eyes.

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a fan of the old stuff when WWE was actually good though.

Re: Are you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan?

I wouldn't wear a wrestling shirt to work -- we have a dress code and no T-shirts is part of it.

But I have a WM30 zip-up hoodie and an ROH hoodie and I wear those all the time when the weather is cool.

When I was going to WM30, I told lots of people in the office I was going. The general reaction, even among people you wouldn't think, was "Cool!" (And most of the non-beta male workers were 'Take me with you/I wish I could go/I envy you so much but my wife would never let me do that')

When I got back, almost every person wanted me to tell them all about it.

Release the hounds!

I am embarrassed of near the 70% of the fanbase. Of prowrestling itself? Nah.

Re: Are you embarrassed to be a wrestling fan?

Nope. If someone talks to me about it then I'll discuss it; I don't go round shouting it from the rooftop and wearing the shirts. My life doesn't revolve around wrestling so it's not "hey its that wrestling fan" I have other hobbies to talk about etc.

Wouldn't say I'm embarrassed, usually get mocked for it being fake etc but from a generation of people who watch reality tv its pretty ironic.
