Re: Forbes: "WrestleMania Ticket Sales Negate Protests Against Roman Reigns"

Look, I've not read the full article but has the author failed to mention the future damage that can be done by ignoring fan protest?

Wrestlemania may sell out this year but wasn't every Raw and PPV selling out last year and the year before?

That isn't happening anymore. They are really struggling to sell out arena's this year and this is on the back of years of poor decisions.

Wrestlemania is a brand in and of itself and so far, it's reputation is firmly intact.

No one could look at this years card and try to claim any wrestler has much impact on ticket sales this year.

However, with the overall product seemingly reaching new lows in terms of fan interest and enjoyment on a weekly basis, how long do they have before the disillusionment trickles down to Wrestlemania as well? When you are making no new stars and all the old ones have essentially lost their drawing ability. Not very long.

Make no mistake Roman Reigns push is hurting the WWE because they are wasting time trying to polish a turd (as a babyface we are at the point were he is indisputably a collosal failure. Especially given WWE's own expectations) instead of attempting to discover the next diamond.

If Reigns is not bringing new eyes to the product then why are they still pushing him? They have a network to sell, they need to improve or at the very least stabilize their ratings over the next few years and they want a guy headlining the bill that sells out arenas.

Reigns is doing none of that and his presentation as the next big superstar of WWE over this past year has hurt the company. They've lost customers. It's not even debatable. The show as a whole is bad, but their 'main attraction' is not drawing a dime.

Keep pushing him though and see if WM ticket sales 'negate fan protest' when attendances continue to fall, TV ratings sink even further, and network subscriptions continue to fall well below initial expectations.

WWE is a failing enterprise and one festival-like event per year means fuck all in the grand scheme of things.

When they start nailing those subscriptions, when attendances go up and when they actually find themselves getting positive media exposure related to their content that draws new eyes to the show, then get back to me.

CM Punk also said he is worth 8 million, The Rock didn't draw WM 27 buys and that he and Randy orton did. Fuck that delusional bitch. Don't even bring him up in this.

The last time WWE sold out every raw and every ppv was pre mania 17 to be fair. They have sold out every raw so far in march and every raw in April will likely be a sellout which is normal business around mania time this past decade..in saying that I attended post mania 20 and 26 raws which were not soldout!!

Op is trying to bait but he is correct in saying reigns hasn't had a noticeable negative impact..then again he hasn't grown business either.

Re: Forbes: "WrestleMania Ticket Sales Negate Protests Against Roman Reigns"

You put Roman Reigns name on the marquee, it sells out. You sit there and you email your buddy and say Roman Reigns sucks, and he emails you back and says believe that. We as a majority have become Vince McMahon's puppets! Cast members who have no say in anything they do anymore! Why? Quite simply, they don't need the money cause they have no competition! Sure you got feds like NJPW, LU, ROH etc. But imagine if they were all on at the SAME TIME as WWE.

Dividing the audience was the smartest thing Eric Bischoff ever did, and he's an idiot compared to Vince. An IDIOT!

Look, there's no other wrestling on a Monday Night anymore, so die hard fans are forced to watch WWE. Unfortunately the die hard fans seem to outweigh the casal fans these days. Look, if we want to send a message, we need to stop watching the product.

it's that simple.

Sure, I should have worded it better but my point was more along the lines that they are now failing to sell out key markets at their most important times of the year. I don't think they managed a sell out until late February or early march.

I'd be surprised if Raw is selling out in April btw. Unless the post Mania Raw is to a high standard again.

Yes, because everyone who bought a Mania ticket bought it just to boo Reigns and nothing else.

Moot point anyway since Shane/Taker is the likely main event at this point.

Re: Forbes: "WrestleMania Ticket Sales Negate Protests Against Roman Reigns"

There was a time when very few thought that Raw was going to rebound against Nitro and that WCW had such a stacked roster that Vince couldn't compete.

All it takes is a long string of bad television to kill interest, and then every other number follows suit.

Re: Forbes: "WrestleMania Ticket Sales Negate Protests Against Roman Reigns"

The shifting goal posts ... First it was "there's no way WOATmania is going to sell out, Roman's a failure" now it's "well of course Wrestlemania sold out Roman has nothing to do with it". I'm sure one of the Empire got some receipts from when WM 31 failed to sell out and it was all Reigns' fault.
